Any vet clinic will scan for a microchip free of charge. Looks like the HSPCA isn't far from the area you found this pup. Houston SPCA, 7007 Old Katy Rd, Houston, TX 77024

Got a HomeAgain alert for this missing dog. Details said he was wearing a brown collar. I think the zip code is wrong, though, as that 77069 is not a Richmond zip code. But maybe someone out there will recognize seeing this missing pup if he isn' the one you found.

I know as the finder you mean well, but as someone who has matched up many missing dogs, you're limiting the ability for this dog to be reunited with it's owner by only posting the collar. Someone (not the owner) may have seen the owner's post elsewhere like Ring, NextDoor, or any number of other lost and found pages here on Facebook but can't help make the match with just a picture of a collar and not the dog. There are other ways to make sure the dog goes to it's rightful owner. There are literally 10-20 missing and found pets posted to Pawboost each day for the Houston area. Now imagine if it were oniy pictures of collars. Please reconsider and post a picture of the dog instead.

I think that's a smart way to do it,people do horrible things to little strays, like fighting bait, so it's good to protect the pup from someone who might do harm
