You didn't keep up with the microchip and pay every year they don't care even though it is still on record the thing of this they'll find the dog a new home all they are for is the money to pay for the other dogs food you have to go physically to look take vet papers pictures of your dog I've had this before happen Not to me to other people I've already found 7 dogs for people so far I haven't seen yours at the shelter but it's won't hurt to go look do the fact is the Here some do and some don't it's just another dog to them so you need to be on your toes if you hadn't kept yourr chip up-to-date
