Found/Stray Dog in Winchester, CA 92596

My girlfriend and I, along with my brother and his girlfriend, found this poor Winchester Road and E. Grande Ave. in Winchester, CA on the night of Saturday, July 4th, while we were on our way to Soboba Casino. She looks to be about 9 months old and wasn't wearing a collar. She had cactus spines stuck in her cheeks and side, which we carefully removed. She was also exhausted and looked like she had been wandering for a long time. She almost got hit by three cars before I stopped. She immediately ran underneath my Jeep and wouldn't come out. After a lot of patience, my dad brought my dog's leash, and we were finally able to get her safely into the back of my Jeep and take her somewhere safe. The County of Riverside Department of Animal Services picked her up later that night. I'm posting this in hopes of finding her owner and letting them know where she is. I truly hope she wasn't abandoned. If you recognize her, please call or text me at. I have the name and direct contact information for the animal control officer handling her case. From what I understand, she'll be eligible for adoption after about 3 days if no owner comes forward. We're honestly considering adopting her ourselves because she was incredibly sweet.
