Message from Owner

Burrito is around 13-14 years old and is the sweetest cat we have ever had. She got frightened and escaped her harness. No collar, chip still assigned to previous owner John Philips in San Diego. Please call if you see our sweet girl. She may be hurt or even dead as she ran into traffic and was not familiar with the area.

Solarrob Greacen OMGOD the car pulled away even though you knew she was IN THERE? I'm so confused and heart broken....She may have jumped out at THe 1st stop sighn !! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’– MAKE HUGE NEON POSTERS and /or a BILLBOARD To increase the chances that a neighbors calls for any possible sighting ; once there is a SIGHTING you must ADD a camera aimed at wet food at that spot to confirm it is YOUR cat - once confirmed THEN you can plan to humanely trap kitty - when you can WATCH the trap every single second.(STAKEOUT from a short distance) ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’– NEON POSTER/S In front of your home and near a busy intersection everyone tends to drive by in your neighborhood. the guardian of lost cat โ€˜Claudeโ€™ created 2 of these HUGE NEON POSTERS - 1 was placed in front of her residence and the other was placed at the nearest busy intersection...a neighbor noticed the poster and then spotted kitty a few days later and called the guardian. ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’– BILLBOARD Make a HUGE BillBoard using a TARP, duct tape and Blown up photo of kitty (kinkos or fedex) - to tie up at a busy intersection near you to ensure everyone in the neighborhood is aware to call you upon sighting. ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–Tip: Print 16โ€x20โ€ of clear full body photo of your cat (crop the photo to remove as much background so itโ€™s just your cat) Fedex Print stores charges $11 for one color copy, available overnight. Cut out your cat and glue/tape to each huge neon sign and for the Billboard. See Signs/Billboard Examples: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Y1h2G8kgceEs_pdhEsn9O18_ZijKLDbG/view?usp=sharing

๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–Keep calling for kitty from the escape point NOW this morning and TONIGHTโ€ฆkeep putting out wet food with camera aimed by sunset each nightโ€ฆ โ€˜ ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–Keep flyering and talking to neighbors, GAIN permission to check crawl spaces and sheds and under decks of neighbors with a flashlight to catch kitty's eyes ...continue leaving WET food bowl just outside where kitty got out - you must get a camera aimed or you won't know who eats the food - a camera reveals everything . โค๏ธ Lost cat Bobby was found stuck in a neighbor's shed who had left for vacation for 2 weeks!! he fully recovered! The guardian kept stopping by until neighbor was back home and gained permission to check crawl space, storage area and shed ๐Ÿ™Œ ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’– Lost cat REESY PUFF (lost for over 5 weeks) was finally spotted on camera - we aimed a mini blink camera where we placed wet food bowl at sunset and it took THAT long for him to come !!. In the meantime I was flyering door to door talking to neighbors and posting up flyers and gaining access to backyards to check crawl spaces using a flashlight...once caught on camera we placed the food partially inside an UN-set humane trap to get her used to going inside without negative consequences - the camera revealed she was hesitant but went in to eat (she was hungry!!) so the next night we set the trap at sunset with yummy bait and waited and watched the ipad that was linked to the mini blink camera aimed at the trap door...she came within 4 hours and by 10pm she was home with her HAPPY guardian ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’– Lost cat Pumpkin (lost 26 days!!) was spotted on a neighbor's RING camera who had seen the flyer I posted on her door - she allowed me to set a trap and I monitored out of sight using a BABY MONITOR with a LONG extention cord leading to my car (you must watch a set trap every single second so you dn't trap a neighbors cat or wild animal!) Don't give up - keep FLYERING ...post up flyers and also go door to door taping them onto front doors so no one misses the photo and info. Keep putting wet food in bowl.dish at sunset with a camera aimed that will send your phone movement notifications and record movement. Sending you love and unwavering determination ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

Do you have battery operated camera aimed at wet food (nightly) where Burrito escaped her harness? Have you gone there at night /early morning to sit and call for her calmly when it's quiet ? Plastered that block with flyers - spoke to neighbors to check security cameras for night activity? xoxoxoxo

Thank you for your replies. Burrito was hiding in the undercarriage of a dark grey Honda in the parking lot where she slipped free of her harness, as the car pulled away, it left a short trail of pee on the asphalt indicating that she was still there. I chased after on foot, but was not fast enough. I hope she was able to get out safely, but that means I have no idea where to look for her. My heart is breaking, but I donโ€™t know where to begin.

You can register her microchip for free on another wetbsite like https://www.petplace.com/microchip-register the chip companies are not linked so you CAN register her microchip - but you must focus on finding her IN PERSON at night calling for her where she was lost and luring to food on camera - it can take many nights - don't stop ..if another cat eats the food then put out twice as much and plan to help THAT cat after you find your baby....

EXAMPLES OF REUNITED CATS LOST AT A PARK, AT THE VETโ€ฆ. โ€”------ โ€”------ ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸฑWhen Tommy cat was lost in a park - I had the guardian call for kitty early morning and after dark - he placed a battery operated camera aimed at wet food bowl (water moat bowl to prevent ants) and on night 5 of going there and calling for him and puting out fresh wet food - his cat was seen eating the food ON HIS CAMERA - the next night he set a trap and waited in his parked car where he could watch the trap door to make sure ONLY his cat came. He trapped his cat 5 hours later - covered the trap right away with a sheet to calm down his cat and put the trap and kity in the carโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿฑ LOST CAT BUSTER REMAINED WHERE HE WAS LOST (behind a vet clinic) FOR 4 WEEKS! ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸฑLost cat โ€˜Buster'sโ€™ carrier case broke outside a vet clinic and he ran across the freeway and back then darted off beyond the vet clinic toward houses up the block...I made flyers the the guardian and told her to follow my guidance but she didn't she flyered blocks away , even going door to door ...she never went out from 10pm-6am to call for him; relying on folks who weren't near the clinic. After 3 weeks she called me desperate and I told her to go that night at 10pm back to the vet clinic and call for Buster...she called me at 1030pm and screamed Buster meowed back!! he was hiding behind a fence of a closed construction shop just behind the vet clinic. He had remained in the exact location (behind the clinic) for 3 weeks! She had to gain his trust for the next week returning at the same time each night and finally he came out all the way and she was able to pick him up and put him I her care and get him home! We were going to trap him once she got him used to coming out for food (he was in survival mode and was acting skittish toward her but still meowed when she called) The moral of the story (and many similar) is cats that are indoor and get outside hunker down VERY NEAR (usually within 1-3 yards) and cats that find themselves in a new location (recent move or busted carrier outside a vet clinic) will also hunker down very near...so please read my long post and follow the guidance ...dont get discouraged or lose hope. You're sweet baby is near and needs your help...spread the word in person and flyering for neighbors to take a photo if they think they spot him...sometimes you have to trap your own cat who is in survival mode..sometimes you can just pick up your baby...also kitty could be stuck in garage next door or shed...you dont know so you must cover all possibilities and take action in many forms to make sure you are doing everything possible. Be determined, stay organized , consistent and do not give up! All cats are different some meow back some hide and show up on camera ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸฑLULU LOST FOR 2 months on busy streets while guardian in hospitalโ€ฆhe found her! Lost cat Lulu escaped the car after her guardian Hadi got into a car accident and was hospitalized - he was in the hospital for 2 MONTHS. After he got out he found me - I told him to flyer during the day - post flyers on both side of every lamppost within a 4 block radius to start - and go door to door to tape a flyer to every front door using painter's tape. I told him to return AT NIGHT and calmly call for him EXACTLY where he had gotten into the car accident then to walk around slowly calling for his cat and to leave food and water with a camera aimed - BUT he never even got to that! He called LULU at midnight and she came running down the street - a busy intersection - right into his arms - it was a miracle - 2 MONTHS and she was still THERE doing her best to survive. You must cover all possibilties because your cat will HIDE FROM EVERYONE no matter how friendly and confident he is at HOME - now everything is different being displaced in a new location. **When Bobby got out of the car on the way to the cat sitters - the guardian went back every night for a week - he put out wet food and aimed a battery operated camera 1-2 feet away from teh wet food bowl - he placed it on someone's property he asked if it would be ok (though sometimes I just sneak it since it's temporary and it's just a littel camera aimed at a water moat bowl of wet food.... by night 8 HE SAW BOBBY on camera had eaten the food! So that night at sunset he SET a humane trap and parked his car so he could see the front of the trap....he watched the trap for 4 hours making sure no other cat or animal came near - one possom came and he had to go out and sush it away ...after 4 hours Bobby returned and went into the trap!! He covered the trap with a sheet and took him home - once home Bobby was his normal friendly confident self -!! But not outside in a new neighborhood he was scared adn hiding and the ONLY WAY he could find him was by luring him to wet food with a camera aimed ....YOU can find your sweet kitty - do NOT rely on online - you must take action in person - I work full time and care for over 13 cats and feed homeless cats before and after work and help people find lost cats and still flyer for elderly folks who lose their cat - if I have time you can flyer 1 HOUR A DAY then place the food by sunset (remember to place bowl on a plate or larger bowl and fill the outer bowl with water to prevent ants) then return late night to calmly call for him where he got out of the car - bring a flashlight to catch the GLOW of his eyes as you shine it under parked cars and under bushes and around the perimeter of buildings thereโ€ฆ Sending you love light and sustained determination.๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿฑ Damia AKA HappyCatLady.com ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿฑ LOST OUT THE WINDOW (at the cat sitterโ€™s home): ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸฑIMPORTANT: In my MANY cases where the cat got out the window and scaled down a building with no way back inside - and the scared cat would not come to the guardian's calls night after night - the CAMERA aimed at wet food bowl** was KEY in spotting kitty. It took SOONA 2 weeks to show up on camera after puting out wet food nightly AND Once kitty was spotted on a camera - THEN we set the humane trap the next sunset and watched the trap non stop from inside my parked car or from inside the building depending on the trap location **to prevent ants place the bowl of wet food on a plate or larger bowl and add water to the outer bowl or plate so ants cannot swarm** Here are the cameras to consider depending on your situation - call me for any help on deciding which once makes most sense 650.339.6619 damia ** 1) If you can run an extension cord from the window down to the ground or from the nearest door on the ground then get the Mini Blink WIFI WIRED camera $39 : https://a.co/d/0aQloEKH 2) This WIRELESS /waterproof Blink camera would work if you are 1-3 stories high. THe receiver plugs into the wall and connects to you wifi and the camera is WIRELESS and you can place it 1-2 feet away from the food bowl : https://a.co/d/cDeKLXz 3) WIRELESS/BATTERY CAMERA - place it 2 feet away from the food . If you are up more than 2 floors up then you should try the wifi camera AND a BATTERY operated camera that you check manually - this does not need wifi though unlike the blink cameras that send notifications to your phone a wildlife camera is manual - you must check the camera itself in the AM to see who ate the food the night before - I can help show you how to use it: This camera has helped me spot MANY lost cats in tricky areas that I couldn't set up a wifi camera ----> https://a.co/d/0cydJBTt
