Cats tend to stay / hide nearby, not run.

post.
a NOTE:
Beware of scammers messaging or calling you and telling you they have found your animal but need to send or receive a "Code" to/from you or otherwise verify "you are a real person " or something to that effect.
It is a scam unfortunately, block them or hang up.
Additionally there are now people posting links or phone numbers to contact pet detectives and pet tracking companies.
These are all scams to be ignored.
These are also scams do not fall for them.

Place items with familiar smells outside by the front and back doors, your clothes blankets, beds, towels the humans in the house used to dry off after showers, replace with freshly used clothes and towels every 12 hours or so)that they will recognize outside, it will draw them back to the house.
Look at night with a flashlight, if they are scared and hiding, they may not respond but the flashlight will illuminate their eyes and you can spot them from a distance.
Look in and under any thing that they could hide, they can get under and in some very small spaces.
check in every cabinet in the house.
Check your garage and neighbors garage if you are able or have one
