Cats will also hide under cars, including up under the wheels.

Checking neighbors backyard properties is crucial. (Neighbors will not check as thoroughly as you will, or at all, so ask them if you can check) Indoor cats will hide quickly after getting outside. Check under bushes and remember, when afraid, they won’t respond to you calling them. Someone in my area had their cat get out and she found him 3 and a half weeks later only 4 houses away hiding in a backyard under patio furniture. The only reason he was detected was because the lady who lived there happened to look out her window and see him under the table in the backyard and recalled seeing the lost cat notice on our community FB page. It was November also so was cold and the furniture outside was covered so was a good hiding place. -put out (unwashed) cat bed/blankets/your clothes that smell of home -put up posters in your area- important-not everyone is on facebook + if someone sees your cat but cannot find your lost cat post -leave a bat window or garage door open enough they can get in.

Have you filed a lost report with OHS (can do on-line)? If he is microchipped contact the chip company to list as missing and to ensure your contact info is up to date. Put his carrier outside along with something with your scent on it. Cats don't generally travel far and are usually found hiding 7-10 houses away - take a flyer with note door-to-door asking neighbours to check their sheds/garages/under decks and door cams. Posters up for blocks in every direction as many people are not on social media. Use a flashlight to check under porches/decks/covered BBQs/bushes and up in trees his eyes will reflect in the light. Leave your door open slightly (secure any other pets in a room) as he may walk himself home/in. Your post says light grey/silver, but the poster says he is orange?

If this is an indoor only cat that never goes out, look close. Indoor only cats when lost get scared and hide because it is unknown territory and usually do not come out when you call. Usually are within 3 or 4 houses . Put out something with your scent such as a piece of clothing or blanket. Call at dusk, dawn and night and shake the treats. Get in your neighbour's yards and look under decks, sheds, in trees, bushes or anywhere they can hide. Put up lots of posters. If you are searching at night, use a flashlight as their eyes glow in the dark. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=388310901737884
