I was in my new apt. but would go around a 2 block radius for months, asking people, putting her food in the vacant lot on the next block, I would go to that vacant lot several times. I was also afraid because it's right there by Vineland & Magnolia. One day my son & I was looking in the lot & started calling her name & then we heard a very low meow, like she was apprehensive. My son went to move some shrubs to go in there & she bolted. Didn't even see her, she was so fast. Then a couple more months went by. I was on YouTube trying to learn more. That's when I heard them saying a cat can go feral very quickly & is probably why she didn't come to us. I bought a night vision camera but thought someone would see it & take it. I thought of getting a trap. I didn't. It consumed me. Then my previous neighbors said they thought they saw her. Like the people said, an indoor cat that is very skiddish will most likely not venture far. I then got a call from my neighbor who saw the people who lived in the house next to my old apt, had been feeding her & even built a little house on the side of their house. I immediately went there with a carrier & food. She had lost so much weight & when I tried to get near her, she hissed. I had to call her name & her sister's name. She began to start remembering & little by little she came closer to us. It took more than an hour for her to trust us. I learned that they can be very quiet as a survival instinct. I would try every suggestion given.
