Anel Loubser Lori is right. He will recognize your voice & more likely to respond if no one else is around to frighten him. Sound of treats can also help. I had a cat back in the UK who got herself locked in numerous neighbors garages over the years. Sometimes she'd get out on her own & sometimes I'd be knocking on some stranger's door to ask them to let her out. NEVER learned!!! Nightmare each time it happened. Hope you find him soon.

Leave his litter box outside; they can smell it from a distance. Worked for my friend's car who'd been missing give days.
