Some info might be irrelevant, but I'll include it anyway. Please check when quiet night and early morning. I know someone who checked under bushes along property during day and nothing. Went back out at night and there was her cat same place she looked 3 times during the day. Another friend sat outside early morning when quiet called her cat, heard a faint meow and he was under her deck. Someone just the other day went out middle of night and found that her cat crossed a busy road and was afraid to cross it again to come back home. Also try a flashlight to see glowing eyes. Could he be stuck behind or in something in the house. Check behind walls, inside and behind cabinets or drawers.
