Update: She’s still at DACC but doing well. The staff member I spoke with said she’s very sweet and well behaved. Since she isn’t microchipped, her stray hold is only four days. This means that her stray hold will expire on 4/1 at 6pm. Anyone interested in adoption should call or visit the shelter no later than 4/2. Her identification number is A183482.

Leslie McCabe Correct. Because they take in around 600 per month. What choice do they have? I’ve taken four dogs to DACC this year, including this one. I adopted one, one was reunited, and one was euthanized. People are the problem, not the shelters. And while I’d love for someone to adopt her, we should all note that DACC requires dogs to be on a stray hold for one full week, and she was taken in, by me, on 3/26. So, if someone wants to foster or adopt her and ensure she’s not euthanized, they should go in, in person, to express their intentions, and also call back the day her stray hold is up, which would be 4/2, to confirm pickup. I can’t emphasize enough how gentle and sweet she is! She’d make a wonderful companion for someone.
