flyers on porches a block around. talk to neighbors. wont go far. be patient. inside cats get scared outside and may not answer when called. my blind cat was 5 doors down for 6 weeks. the neighbor kept the flyer and called me when she spotted my cat in her front bushes - where I had called my cat's name a million times.

When I lived in Houston and my cat got out, I walked the neighborhood/blocks around my house calling for her at intervals between 12-3am (when it is really quiet) for several nights and I was able to draw her back towards our house and eventually I caught her in our yard. I have given this advice many times and so far most people have been able to find their cats. Don't give up! Your cat is probably just scared, hiding and needs to be drawn out! 🙏🙏🙏

Elaine Hutzelman you name it we've done it. Fliers all over our subdivision and neighboring ones, I've gone out morning noon and at night dusk and dawn. We've gone on foot and car. Shaking treat bag, can food, flashlights. I've posted on nextdoor as well as other websites. I haven't slept well at all. I have the phone up and keep it close when I try to rest. My husband is is absolutely devastated as am I. We've checked our cameras constantly, and just 10 min ago a cat showed up that looked almost like him but was too big to be him. My heart skipped a beat cause I thought my baby was home. Ty all for the advice and support bless you all.

Post all over your neighborhood with all contact info. Tell neighbors and ask them to check garages and sheds or anywhere a cat can hide. Put bed, toys and your worn clothing or bedding at the door. Do NOT put out the litter box as it can attract other cats and small rodents. Visit all shelters in person. Post to your area Next Door.Petco has a site as well but Google it. They are so traumatized that they often will not respond to calling them. Look in closeby hedges and shrubs closely a few doors on either side of your house. Any strange markings? Collar? Best to look early am at dawn and dusk and when it’s quiet. Carry something with his scent when looking.
