Dwayne Johnson thank you so much for the optimism, i’m happy you got reunited with your fur baby. i know he’s out there somewhere and will come back in his own time. i’m doing everything i can to get him to come back. he is fixed and after this i will be chipping him as well as getting a harness that can hold an airtag since he apparently is an escape artist.

Hang in there my cat, an outdoor cat at the time went missing for 3 weeks in some of the coldest weather last winter. I was heartbroken because there was nothing i could do because her was free roaming and had to come back on his own. Then the day i went back to work there he was, skinny as a rail and 3 pounds lighter. He has not left my house since then and lives indoors now and is microchipped. If your cat is not fixed he may just be roaming like male cats do... I have a feeling he will show up when you least expect it, cats have their ways... 🤞🐾

Yes litter box worked for us. We also put some litter on a piece of cardboard on ground. Windy day like today, and around 30min. Later Ole boy showed up.

Taylor Dawn Here are a few things you can try. Cats usually don’t go far. They just hide well. Cats are very active at dusk and dawn. So first of all you can go out and call for him. You can put his food/water, and lots of cat nip outside your house to help draw him back. Also, put your cat's bedding that has your cat's scent on it outside to attract your cat back to your home. Also putting your own unwashed clothes or bedding out . Cats run on scent and this is highly effective in luring your cat back home .PetMD backs this up, can help lure the cat back home, as it's a comfortable and familiar smell. Shake the treat/food container outside. Check garages, especially under porches and decks, dense bushes, etc. Get one of those strong flashlights they will catch a cat's reflective eyes two blocks away and save you tons of time!!! Do not leave the food out overnight as it will attract other animals that can scare the kitty away. Go to your neighbors and let them know your kitty got out and give them your contact info. Walk your neighborhood and talk to people as you can. Take a flyer TO your local vets office and shelter a face is better than a thousand words of description and check every couple of days in person if possible Sometimes it can take weeks or months to find your kitty. Also post with Pawboost and Sam the Parrot about your missing cat. Many times cats are found within a couple hundred feet of their homes. Post fliers around your neighborhood with your phone number that people can call day or night. And talk to your mail carrier. They see lots of animals. If they see a strange kitty around, they may recognize it as yours. Make sure you call local animal shelters, etc Best time to look is between 1-6AM Get a humane trap ASAP! This it's the best chance at retrieving your cat. Line it with newspaper. The ONLY food you leave out should be in that trap. Do not leave the trap set for long periods of time unattended, especially overnight. The most importantly do not give up hope! Open your garage door a little. Don’t put the litter box out. 🙏🏻Also take a flashlight out at night and look in and under things to see if you can see the kitty’s eyes.

Put his litter box out on your porch and (when it stops raining) put a shirt, blanket, something with your and your son's smell outside. 💞

Taylor Dawn You are so welcome! It sounds like you are doing everything that you can. It's not supposed to be a good idea to put the litter box outside because of other animals. I would recommend putting his blanket or cat bed outside instead. I am praying for Miles!

Mary Katherine Gillan thank you so much for your suggestions! i have placed his litter box outside along with several articles of my clothing. i put out rotisserie chicken at multiple points along my property as well as cap nip. i walk nightly checking for eye sheens in bushes and under cars. i’ve posted in every pet group that approves it and have gone door to door with his photo to ask people to keep an eye out for him. i’m not giving up, i need him back. i see that pawboost has its own printable flyer that i plan on getting a ton of copies from tomorrow when stuff is open. i have a ring camera for my driveway/backyard as well as a door bell to pick up any and all motion possible incase he creeps back. he’s never been outside before and i know he has to be so scared.
