Rachel Cooper Lullio all great advice! Be sure to contact the police and animal control as well as your local shelter so they have your info. Is he microchipped or wearing a collar with ID tags? If he's microchipped also contact the microchip company and make sure that his chip is registered with your current info on file and let them know that he is lost. Some microchip companies send out emails and paper mailers, robocalls, etc. It's very important to get good color flyers made and posted asap. Flyers are extremely important. Use one good picture large enough to be seen from the street With large bold lettering LOST CAT With the area lost and your phone number. We always recommend placing flyers in plastic sleeves with the opening at the bottom so they don't get wet and use a staple gun on all corners so they don't blow away. Also hand flyers to residents, mailman, etc. It's very important to talk to people. Someone may have seen him and assumed he was a stray but if they know that he has a family who is missing him they'll pay more attention. Be sure to visit the shelter in person regularly to look for him and give them a flyer.
