Lex Harrison i’ve been doing this for 25 years. I know what I’m doing and I wouldn’t put it out there if it wasn’t true or helpful.

Sue Higbee also thanks for sharing this but it's your opinion it's not a factual statement. Putting it out as a factual statement could lead someone astray and cost them their pet. I'm not here to argue I'm simply saying please take a minute and give people suggestions to get them going then refer them to sign up. That's all.

Sue Higbee Okay we are at an impasse apparently. And that's fine. Have to agree to disagree. And I have several owners that have used them and never got their pets back. I mean that's going to be standard across the board no matter who an owner goes with. It's just the nature of the game. Sometimes owners do all the wrong things and get lucky. Sometimes they do all the right things and still don't get their pet. But there are many methods that we use in the rescue community. Some things are much more effective than others. You personally may not take 20 minutes to fill out the application but for many it's very challenging. I've had several tell me they were never contacted after they signed up. They waited a day or two believing help was going to arrive based on things they were told in the comment sections. They didn't know what else to do and they waited and it was too late. Of course I know that's not what they should do but they didn't know. I've had others tell me they signed up only to be told they could only be helped with flyers, when they were already putting out flyers. So they stopped what they were doing to go sign up just to get the help doing what they were already doing. Do you see what I'm saying? Typically this seems to happen more commonly in the lower income neighborhoods likely because there are less volunteers. Some parts of the valley don't have enough volunteers for coverage. So your experience is yours but it's not everyone's. My point is, in a very high risk zone like Sun City time is of the essence. And if we can be the hands and feet of Jesus and go ahead and give owners suggestions to get them started looking for their pet with the most effective methods like posting on next door, groups for Sun City putting the location the pet was lost from and a good description of the pet. Get those up first and then go sign up get the ball rolling in the most strategic places first and cover all bases. ♥️

Lex Harrison my folks had Havelina‘s and the coyotes and the Hawks as they lived off of a golf course. Patient is not something a lot of people have in our world, but hartt is a top notch organization and if somebody doesn’t use them, those are the ones that don’t get their dogs back or cats and I’m only 20 miles from the Superstition mountains so we have everything up here and they are awesome. And I don’t take 20 minutes to fill out the form online.

Sue Higbee thanks for being snarky, but it's not a bubble. It's not just the 20 minutes for filling out the application though. I recently had a Sun City resident tell me it took a couple days to get Flyers from whoever she was working with and we just do not have time like that in a high coyote risk zone. I think it's important that we just give people the information they need to get started immediately and then if they want to bring in other organizations with flyers or drones etc those are supplemental but getting started immediately is so important. And you don't have to tell me about the coyotes LOL I have two pages done a ton of research spent months working on how to address the issue in the valley. We have over 200 pets attacked or ed by Coyotes in Maricopa County per month. I know this because my team and I individually called most of the veterinarians in Maricopa County West of Scottsdale and asked. Both day shift and night shift.

Lex Harrison I hate to bust your bubble, but coyotes are everywhere in this state very popular up here in East Mesa so when I send something out, it is more than just helpful. I know all about the seniors my parents used to live there and I’ll do anything to save an animal so if they have to take a few minutes and fill out a form so be it

Sue Higbee when a dog is missing in Sun City time is absolutely of the essence because of the coyotes. Instead of sending them to go spend 20 minutes filling out an application and then waiting a few hours or a day to get Flyers to put up they don't have time like that. Can you please just tell them they need to get Flyers up immediately and post on next door. Dogs can die while people are signing up for help when it's simple stuff they can do on their own.

I think I saw this puppy at the animal control on Mesa. You may want to look there.
