Long haired orange tabby. I had to shave some mats off him in November, so he has some uneven hair growth on his back and belly. Green eyes. Has microchip. 16 years old but in very good shape, very active.

Message from Owner

I know this is a long shot, I live in the forest not super close to anywhere with tons of coyotes and bobcats and there are occasional cougar sightings and it's been super cold. Our yard is very well fenced but that only offers some protection. I know he's resourceful though and could possibly travel pretty far if he got lost, so I have a sliver of hope. I'm not ready to give up on him yet.

Lorna's Lovelies "a cat rescue" what's the reasoning behind not putting the litter box out? Most sources recommended to put it out which is why I did, but I'm interested in why not. I've been out at night multiple times, still no luck except lots of deer. I'd be worried about putting out food like chicken since there are many predators in our area and I have young kids. Ichi isn't strictly an indoor cat, he would often go outside when we went outside but didn't wander far and he didn't go outside by himself often. He really wanted to go outside the night he went missing my husband said, more than normal, which makes me think something was out there and he might have bit off more than he could chew 😥

Julie Wilson we've searched pretty extensively, and our neighbors are aware and have put out food and some have cameras. Still nothing. I checked the trees in our yard and right outside our fence, but there are too many in the forest to search all. He's a pretty vocal cat so I feel if he heard me searching he would yowl, but you never know how they'll react when they're scared. There aren't any shelters close to us so I don't know which ones I should visit. I probably need to look into traps.

Betty Holtze we put out his litter box and food the first night, I'll try to put some of my clothes on the further out areas of our yard.

A Trap & camera are key!!! Our boy was finally trapped after 45days! Seen almost nightly on camera. Local the entire time!! Don’t give up! CHECK GARAGES etc!

Post on Nextdoor and Ring apps. Ask neighbors to check car hoods, garages and sheds immediately. Make sure to tap hoods of the car around. Keep an entryway open for cat to get in. Buy or loan a cat trap from local tnr groups. Leave your garage open with cat to enter. Put some food and your clothing there for smell. Get a motion sensor camera to detect when cat is around your property

Put out some stuff that smells like familiar or favorite people. The scent may help him find his way back if he wandered too far
