Message from Finder

This cat has been seen coming and going from under our deck on Chestnut Ridge Road. I do not know if she's living there, if she's a stray or has an owner, or if she has kittens or anything else. I am trying to find her owners.

I think she is still around. I’ve been putting food and water out and the food is disappearing. The trapping team can’t come and get her unless there is a home in place for her. Are you interested?

I put water out, but I haven’t seen the cat in three or four days now. I am hoping she just went home.

Is the cat still around? I could try trapping it and maybe give it a home.

If you love your cat, please read this. I keep seeing posts from people who have lost their cats after letting them outside — and my heart breaks every single time. These aren’t just pets… they’re family. For a long time, I struggled with this myself. I have an indoor cat, and even letting her into the backyard (with a 4-ft fence!) made me constantly anxious. I was always worried: What if she jumps it? What if she gets spooked and runs? What if I can’t find her? Eventually, I had enough of that fear. I got her a tracking device — an Apple AirTag on a proper collar — and it completely changed everything. Now, when she’s outside, I feel safe. I know I can find her. I know she’s not just “gone” if something happens. And here’s the thing: there are SO many options out there now. AirTags, GPS collars, pet trackers — affordable, easy-to-use tools that can literally bring your cat back home. It doesn’t matter if your cat is “just in the yard” or “usually stays close.” All it takes is one moment. One noise. One jump. One chase. Please — if you let your cat outside, even a little — consider using a tracking device. It could be the difference between panic and peace of mind… between losing them and bringing them home. Let’s do better for the animals we love.

Can you put food and water out and see if kittens are under your deck? 💕
