Lost indoor cats typically stay close to home. They usually remain within a radius of about 1 to 5 houses from their escape point, often hiding in nearby shelters like bushes or under porches. This behavior is driven by their instinct to seek safety and familiarity in a frightening situation. First 24 Hours: Most lost indoor cats will not wander far, often remaining within a very small area. After 24 Hours: Some may venture slightly further, but they generally stay within a few houses. Indoor cats are usually frightened and may hide rather than roam extensively. They often seek immediate shelter nearby, which can make finding them challenging. Try placing some of your unwashed clothing or Mina's pet bed or blanket outside. Do not put out Mina's litter box or food as this will attract predators. Put up bright colored posters and flyers. When searching for Mina look under bushes, cars and porches. Look in trees. The best time to search is later in the evening. Call her name softly. Shake a bag of food. When using a flashlight a cat's eyes will reflect so look carefully. Best of luck for a happy reunion.
