Smudge's Owner Says

Smudge has been found and is happy to be home. A neighbour called to say they had found him on their balcony. We are going to put a collar on him, perhaps the gps kind. Thank you to those who have commented on the Facebook posting and provided their tips and concerns. We are overwhelmed with happiness to have our little guy back.

This is my in laws kitty and just want to say Smudge has been found and is home safe. A neighbour called a bit ago to say he was on their balcony. Not exactly sure how he got out as the glass door on their own balcony was fully closed and locked. He may have curiously ran out the front door when garbage was being taken out. Nevertheless, smudge will be getting a gps collar. We are all so happy he is safe and home. Thanks to those who commented and shared the post. 🤍🙏🏻🐾

Hoping something here helps…Checking neighbors backyard properties is crucial. (Neighbors will not check as thoroughly as you will, or at all, so ask them if you can check) Indoor cats will hide quickly after getting outside. Check under bushes and remember, when afraid, they won’t respond to you calling them. Someone in my area had their cat get out and she found him 3 and a half weeks later only 4 houses away hiding in a backyard under patio furniture. The only reason he was detected was because the lady who lived there happened to look out her window and see him under the table in the backyard and recalled seeing the lost cat notice on our community FB page. -put out (unwashed) cat bed/blankets/your clothes that smell of home -put up posters in your area- important-not everyone is on facebook + if someone sees your cat but cannot find your lost cat post -leave a basement window or garage door open enough they can get in.

If the kitty is lost in an apartment building please notify your neighbours and put up posters in the elevators and lobby. Tell the concierge or superintendent and get permission to put up posters in the lobby, laundry rooms, parking garage areas. Let the superintendent know the kitty might try to get back into the building through any entry point. Your posters should have your phone numbers visible and ask for sightings.

If you haven’t already, take another thorough look inside your unit; cats can hide in the most unlikely places! Put up signs in the area, including inside your building. Post on the Lawrence Park Residents’ Facebook page, or get someone else to if you’re not part of that group.

Condominium? Hopefully he wasn't stuck on your balcony. Unusual for a cat to go missing in a condo. Praying he is found safe 🙏

Please place his bedding 🛏outside, along with the owner's unwashed clothing👚👖 front and back door 🚪with a can of tuna 🐟 on each entrance, you can leave your garage door a bit open as well. In case it comes in that way. And leaving food there as well. Also vacuumed home 🧹dirt in a stocking hanging it in front and back of home🏡 enterence . You can also add some catnip 🌱in a stocking hanging by your entrances. Show your neighbo🖼picture of the cat. Ten houses to the left ten house to the right front and back if they spot him to give you a call☎️ immediately. Go early in the ☀️morning and shake treats calling the cats name when things are quiet.. Tell neighbors to check their sheds and garage.Just in case it's trapped.. Also, you can install a camera 📹to monitor and see if the cat is around your house . Best of luck 🍀finding your kitty 🙏 ❤️🏡🐾
