Message from Owner

We just adopted him a day prior to him escaping through the front door of our home. We love him and hoped he would be okay adjusting to his new home. He’s such a beautiful boy. He is a bit skittish and loves to growl and hiss. If anyone has seen him, please let us know. We miss him.

Most kitties try to come back in the way they got out... especially if they’re not used to going out... if you can and it’s safe, prop open the door he went out (especially at night)... that’s when they feel safer to make the attempt to come back… Do not sit outside or wait by the door… If you have other pets, which most people do, secure them in a separate room. I work with rescues and trust me, this works! You don’t want to just leave food out because they’ll simply eat the food and run back to their hiding spot. By propping the door open, he went out, he will try to come back in that way, especially when they’re hungry. Praying he returns soon …keep the lighting low. They feel safer in low to no light … that’s why they usually try to come back in at night…keep us posted🙏🏻🐾

Dotti Henry thank you so much. We’ve been checking day and night with neighbors, shelters and people on NextDoor and Facebook who have commented on possibilities of him being seen. It is heart wrenching that he still hasn’t been found. 😞 😢 😭

Teresa Sensabaugh that’s a great idea. He had a blanket and I think he knows my scent because I was with him for an hour at the vet. He was very different when we brought him home. Hiding and hissing. I’m thinking it’s because he was in a different place than he was familiar with. We’re still searching. I will follow your advice. Thank you

Not sure if hes had a chance to get familiar with everyones scent, but this is worth a try.... Put something outside that has a heavy scent of his hoomans.. socks, tshirts, dirty laundry and something that has his scent on..his bed, blanket, etc. I dont recommend putting out the litter box bc it attracts strays and the occasional skunk that might scare him away. Prayers for his safe return 🐾💕🙏

*Start asap* all these tips from all of us are really great tips... they really do work... pleaseeee keep repeating...check with your neighbors for any sightings and ask if they have cameras..go out really late at night or really early in am... middle of the night with flashlight and call for him/her and then quietly listen he/she may be hiding scared injured or stuck somewhere ...shine the flashlight around his/her eyes will reflect off of it...keep checking the shelters go in person make sure you're going to correct shelter where animal control would bring a cat from your area... they are too busy to contact you and check all the pets coming in...set up trail cameras near ur home ..they only take pics when something is in front of it moving ..so you don't have to look thru 24 hours of camera everyday... (there are great ppl out there to lend one to you and so many ppl in the community will help you look for him/her) if you can monitor, set a humane trap with really strong smell food to attract and make sure that’s the only food out for him/her…all the tips to find lost cats really really do work please follow them.keep posting and we'll keep sharing and hang lots of fliers talk to as many ppl and hand them fliers...it'Il keep him/her on everyone's mind so they are always on the lookout…concentrate on putting up fliers especially in ur area they really don't go far at all. If they do go outside or are not neutered/spayed may travel further. No litter box please it may attract predators. Prayers for your kitty out there and you find him/her asap.
