Message from Owner

She's a shy little girl and so so sweet. She might come if you squat down, make kissy noises and call her name, but she likes to sneak around bushes and hide mostly. She's my daughter's cat and we're just heart broken so any information would be helpful!

Gab Kosak thank you for the tips!! Leaving the garage and lanai cracked for her. We have placed flyers all around and have cameras going. I'm hesitant to use the trap but I like the idea of the chair and blanket, she has a favorite chair. Should I just put it in the front yard?

Paula Valentino following all of this advice. My neighbor's said we can put dirty socks and undies around their bushes, I have good neighbors. 😂 Thank you for writing all that advice out, I appreciate you.

Put this on lost and found pets of Pinellas county Please post on lost and found pets of your county and I'm sure there are more than just one as well as Pawboost If you have lost a cat read my first long paragraph. If you found one, Please read the last paragraph The only way a lost cat can find its way home is with its nose. Immediately anything with the cat's scent on it and anything that stinks of you like your smelly socks something that you sweated in overnight and your stinky sneakers even your dirty clothes and your underwear! I even read you can put some of your pee outside because they recognize all our smells. Cats usually stay within a five house radius of their own home for up to a week sleeping in the bushes and coming out at dusk Dawn and late at night. These are good times to take walks shaking the treat bag and calling for them. Cats can smell up to a whole mile away. So do that immediately and also put this on nextdoor. com and the other lost and found pet sites. Go on those sites looking at pics of found cats too. There might be a match. They tend to come home late at night or early in the morning so if you can keep a window cracked or a door cracked so at least you hear them. Good luck IF YOU HAVE FOUND A CAT: Please post this on all the lost and found pet pages in your county as well as all the neighborhood pages. Look on those pages just look at the photos try to make a match to someone that lost this cat. Any vet will check for a chip for free. Make sure they scan the whole body because chips can move. In the meantime please give food and water to the kitty and shelter if you can.

When found please put a TABCAT LOCATOR on BREAKAWAY collar. Did you try a pet communicator & the group that has the drones/cameras'?

You might try a live trap, they are fairly cheap, my Jane wanted to come back but was too overwhelmed and scared, she had made a home under a backyard shed across the street. Eventually she was found eating hamburger in the trap on my front porch and all was right again. It took about 3 weeks for her to show up and i did have to release squirrels and possums along the way which were easy. Tuna in oil also makes a lot of scent. Make sure there's water too. If its cold out, wrap the trap in a blanket and make sure to check it often, check it often no matter what the weather is. In fact, best to keep a camera on it. I believe in Jane's case, the live trap was her only chance. Best of luck and a swift resolve for you I hope
