Message from Finder

This cat entered my yard last July. I messaged the Shelton Animal Control and sent them a photo, but so far nobody has claimed him. So I brought him into my upstairs bedroom. He is now fully vaccinated and neutered. Loves attention and rolls over on his back, etc.

Why not post this on one of the Shelton pages or send it to Shelton Animal Control?

Please read my last paragraph If you have lost a cat read my first long paragraph. If you found one, Please read the last paragraph The only way a lost cat can find its way home is with its nose. Immediately anything with the cat's scent on it and anything that stinks of you like your smelly socks something that you sweated in overnight and your stinky sneakers even your dirty clothes and your underwear! Cats usually stay within a five house radius of their own home for up to a week sleeping in the bushes and coming out at dusk Dawn and late at night. These are good times to take walks shaking the treat bag and calling for them. Cats can smell up to a whole mile away. So do that immediately and also put this on nextdoor. com and the other lost and found pet sites. Go on those sites looking at pics of found cats too. There might be a match. They tend to come home late at night or early in the morning so if you can keep a window cracked or a door cracked so at least you hear them. Good luck IF YOU HAVE FOUND A CAT: Please post this on all the lost and found pet pages in your county as well as all the neighborhood pages. Look on those pages just look at the photos try to make a match to someone that lost this cat. Any vet will check for a chip for free. In the meantime please give food and water to the kitty and shelter if you can.

o all, many thanks from my heart to all of you for taking time to write me with your kind words and helpful suggestions. Yes indeed, our animal control is wonderful, but they cannot unfortunately take this cat for various reasons. So therefore I'm currently in touch with various rescues to see if any might be able to take him. But I wanted to advertise here also just in case a neighbor might recognize him before handing him over to a rescue. He's been well cared for here in my home....has a great bedroom with large windows and a huge post that he loves to sleep on every night! Lots of toys, etc. And he's in excellent health. Much better than being in the outdoors for sure, LOL. His only issue is he has a biting habit on occasion so I've already been turned down by a few rescues, but this may be because he's confined to the bedroom and smells my other cats in the house. Therefore I feel another home might suit him better. Wish me luck! But if you hear of anyone who might be his owner, please let me know. Thanks again!🙂 Karen

Laura Bardinelli Achilles 🥲Thank you for your nice comments. Yes I agree. Last year, our Animal Control was notified immediately but they never got back to me about anyone claiming him. I believe this poor kitty was abandoned. Perhaps the person moved, or whatever. I wasn't aware of this PawBoost site until today. Otherwise I would have posted an ad much sooner. I'm currently in touch with rescues. Thank you for your kindness! :)

He also was malnourished and starving the night he wandered into my yard and was begging for food. Obviously was without food for days.
