David Gilbert my cat was strictly indoors. He was about a mile away. We got a call from a flyer we passed out. When we went there and saw him , he would not come to us ! We set a trap and he escaped that ! The evening I caught him , I took a bag of treats and shook the bag , I sat on the ground and put some in front of me and was able to grab him . He bit the heck out of me ! When we got him home he was so happy that he would not leave our sight. It just so happened that a young couple had been feeding him so he kind of stayed in that area . Do you live in a housing development ? I passed out at least 150 flyers and hung signs/posters (probably 15) for a 6 block radius, which is a pretty big area. We got a call from the flyer I passed out . He was doing dangerous things like jumping over fences that had dogs and he was going in the sewers. If you have a garage , leave it cracked about 6” , put his food and litter box out there. Set a couple traps but cover them with a rug , use tuna in them . They don’t always find their way back , but him being used to outside , I’d think he could find his way, unless he wandered off farther.
