There is a black kitty that just got posted on city of Aurora Animal control site. They actually have a couple of black cats. Check it out.

Flyers are very important. If you adopted from a rescue. They usually like to know ASAP that a former animal is missing. If your cat returns, it's good to make sure that you got a microchip. Cats tend to stay close before they wander so time is of the essence. It is dangerous for cats to wanders, so I hope if your cat returns home that you keep it safely in your house. Make sure your cat is not in your garage closet. Dresser drawers are behind your dressers, which often happens. I've heard of a few cats returning home the last few years when the owner left their garage door open about 5 in with a worn piece of clothing on the inside of the garage near the garage door opening to help attract the cat if it comes close back to home but not too wide. So you do not attract unwanted animals. When I leave my house I back out of my house and watch my cats to make sure they do not want to go out. I hope your cat is safely back home very soon.....

If she is microchipped let the company know she is missing. Some will send out flyers to local vets and shelters. Its a great time to make sure your contact info is up to date and that the microchip is registered directly to you. Be sure to contact Aurora Animal Care and Control and your county Animal Control in case finder contacts them. Have neighbors check garages, sheds and window wells.
