URGENT- Orange tabby with tight collar

I don’t know how much longer this cat can live as it looks like his collar is on extremely tight. He’s probably grew into it from a younger cat. I can’t get close enough to him to take it off. He’s very shy. I put food out for him and water, but just can’t get close to it. I’m afraid he’s not going to live if lucky another day, maybe hours. It comes and visits my cats when they’re in the backyard every now and then but I just can’t get to it enough to help. I am hoping a volunteer who works with pets will help put out a cage. That collar needs to come off.

I lost my cat when he was baby. He had a black collar with different color paw prints. He was very friendly so it wouldn’t be too hard to hold him and take the collar off. I can come drive around there tomorrow to look for him.

Can someone trap him and bring him to the Humane Society of New Braunfels for a microchip scan and possible rehoming? See details re protocol on the HSNBA website. That collar could be removed during his neuter surgery.
