Donna Seekings looks like he is doing all the right things. I would get a trail cam and see who is coming to visit. And ask neighbors to check their cam footage

Inna Larsen David has gotten live traps,put food and tuna out for him,water,his shirt on a live traps,putting up flyers,talked to neighbors,contacted the humane Society as well as animal control.We have been checking under bushes etc and just no sign of him.He is a indoor cat and somewhat skittish

Check in nearby trees. Sometimes cats go right up a tree if they’re scared. Hope you find him!!

Donna Seekings he is doing Al the right things. I would invest in a trail cam and or ask neighbors with ring or blink cams to check their footage and see who is passing through. An orange or buff cat is going to look white on night time cams.

Donna Seekings what has been done the past 3 weeks to look for him? Did you do flyers to ur neighbors, r u leaving food out and searching? Here is my cat advice. Post should have nearest cross streets, contact number or email, cat's name, markings, , and if the cat has collar, tags or chip, or special needs (, elderly). Mention if it is an indoor escapee or indoor outdoor cat and if it is friendly or skittish. Use a flashlight and look for glowing eyes. Chances are it is not far away. Dusk is a good time to do this. Look under cars, grill covers, decks and porches, bushes, storm drains. Leave dry food and canned smelly food like tuna or sardines and water. Ask your neighbors to check their yards and check their ring cam footage, sheds, garages, window wells. Post on nextdoor and any neighborhood facebook page. Do flyers to each neighbor and make 50-100 flyers. If you are in an apt complex, post flyers in public areas like mailboxes hallways laundry garbage bins pool etc. notify apt management and maintenance so they can watch for the cat as they do work around the complex and the office can send an email to the residents You may need to do it for neighboring apt complexes too. Also notify the humane soc that the cat is lost.Trail cams are useful to see who is eating the food. They run about 50 dollars online or at Walmart or Fleet Farm. Note that any light siamese, orange or buff cats may look white on the nightime cams. Calico cats will have the orange spots come out as white. Please let your neighbors know this and put the info on the flyers, as people may see your cat and not realize it is yours.

I’m so sorry this happened. We’ve been there. This has been successful for us and others I’ve helped… Act fast!!! Get a live trap, or 2! Haveahart is a good one. Cover with a large towel/blanket/tarp. Line the bottom with newspaper so it’s more welcoming and easier on little feet. Make sure newspaper doesn’t interfere with mechanism. Inside trap, bait with smelly cat food or canned fish. Place cat’s bedding and things that smell like kitty & you in and around the trap and place trap on perimeter of yard or next to house… not out in the open… cats walk along sides of things. Best to position it so you can see if it was sprung from your home… if you’re out there checking all the time, you’ll freak out kitty and it could run further away. Check trap discreetly around dusk, post-dusk and post-dawn (more often when it’s freezing out). That’s when cats typically are most active hunting and eating. Once recovered, take kitty to the vet right away and don’t let it roam around your house or mingle with kids/pets beforehand… cats can pick up parasites so easily… kitty will need a quarantine period. David,Hermes owner has done the posters,puts food (tuna as well) and water,his litter box contacted the humane Society and animal control,etc.

Since Hermes is normally an inside only cat he may be close by hiding in tight spaces or drainage tunnels. Use a flashlight at dusk/dawn to look for him as his eyes will glow. Put out wet stinky food and monitor. You may also want to put out clothing or pillow covers with your scent on them. Make a missing pet report with Dane County Humane Society. Is he chipped by chance?
