🛑 MISSING CAT 🛑 If your cat is used to being outside but usually stays close to the house doesn’t wander then ..... If they wandered farther than they are used to and became lost/displaced...Those cats are almost always hiding nearby but may be spooked. Leave a door, garage or window open for them to re enter if possible. (Keep in mind this is at your own risk due to safety concerns and other pets would need to be secured first). Tell all your neighbors and put up neon poster board lost cat signs. Put some of your dirty clothes outside so they can smell their way home. Use a flashlight at night to look for eyes. Fear can make even the most tame cat act feral so some need to be trapped., It's not recommended to put out a litter box, it can attract other cats and wildlife that might run off or your cat. Otherwise...Something may have happened to prevent them from coming home. Have your neighbors check all their garages and sheds in case he got locked inside. Put up lost cat flyers in case someone took him in. ----------------------------------------OR------------------------------. lnside only cats are almost always hiding very close. Tell all your neighbors and put up neon poster board lost cat signs. Leave a window, garage or door open to your house if it’s safe to do so for them to reenter. (Keep in mind this is at your own risk due to safety concerns and other pets would need to be secured first.) It is very likely they will try to re-enter through the door they escaped from. Put some of your dirty clothes outside so they can use them to smell their way home. Physical searches in a 5 house radius (500 yards) of your house is one of the most important things you can do. Look in trees, on roofs, bushes, storm drains and under/in everything. This includes under and in parked cars as scared cats will climb inside their undercarriage. Use a flashlight late at night to look for eyes. Scared cats may still move around so you may need to check the same places multiple times. Fear can make even the most tame cat act feral so some need to be trapped. They probably won’t come to your call. It is also not uncommon for them to be missing for over a week before they come out of hiding. It's not recommended to put their litter box or food outside because it can attract other cats and wildlife that might run off or your cat. Posting a full page color photo ad of my lost cat at my local grocery store is what got us my cat back after 2 months. The grocery store is where everyone in your neighborhood eventually goes. Turned out my cat had been found in a neighborhood a couple of miles away from mine and had been living with her adoptive family until the guy saw my ad at the grocery store. He called us and brought our cat home.

Leave some of your laundry outside your home to help him find his way home by scent. Also leave a door, lower window, garage door cracked open enough for him to find a way back into the home. They normally try to get back inside the same way they got out. If he is scared, he may be moving at night when it is quieter and looking for a way back inside. Hope this helps 🙏

How to find a cat Go out at dusk and dawn. These are the key times to find your kitty. Take a flashlight to see his eyes glowing under a bush, car, up a tree, on a fence , beside a house, a storm drain etc..Crack a window, garage door so he can smell you and his home. Check Google on dusk and dawn times in your city Don’t give up hope 💗
