Paco is still missing. Update: A young lady contacted my daughter in law saying she found Paco, but was wanting a 200 dollars reward to return the dog in exchange for money on gift cards. The picture that showed a dog very similar to Paco but with some very different features of my son’s dog. Beware of people trying to scam families of missing dogs. The lady also wanted the numbers to the gift cards, before she would return the dog at spot where she found the dog. We immediately knew it was a scam. Because most people would want to return missing dogs to their rightful families and actually it’s the law. If you find a dog you must try and find the dogs owners especially if the dog is microchipped. If a reward is offered in trying to find or locate the dog, then they can ask for the reward once the dog is returned to the family. However, if no reward is offered and someone is demanding a reward it’s considered a theft of the family’s property. So please beware of scams and if dogs are found please return them to their families rightful owners. Thanks.

Fireworks often begin midweek and continue through the holiday weekend. Even the calmest dogs can panic when they hear the loud booms and shrill whistles. Here’s why it’s so dangerous: 🐾 They can escape. Frightened dogs have been known to jump, dig under, or break through fences. 😱 Panic can lead to injury. In their fear, dogs may hurt themselves trying to escape. 🚗 They can get lost or be hit by a car. Once they get out, many run blindly and can end up miles from home. 🧠 Fireworks can cause lasting trauma. Repeated exposure may lead to long-term anxiety and fear. Help keep them safe:�• Keep them indoors with the windows and doors closed.�• Create a safe, quiet space with blankets, favorite toys, and familiar scents.�• Play calming music or white noise to help mask the sounds.�• Walk your dog before dark, before fireworks begin, to give them a chance to exercise and relieve themselves.�• Keep your dog on a leash anytime they’re outside during the holiday - even in a fenced yard if fireworks are going off. Even well-trained dogs can bolt when startled.�• If your dog has severe anxiety, talk to your veterinarian ahead of time about appropriate medications. ✅ Check your dog’s ID tags. Make sure they’re securely attached and your phone number is current. ✅ Verify your pet’s microchip information. A microchip only works if your contact information is up to date.

🚨 LOST DOG – WHAT TO DO IMMEDIATELY TO HELP BRING YOUR DOG HOME 🚨 If your dog is missing, follow these critical steps right away: 🏠 Bring Them Home with Scent and Access • Hang dirty laundry (T-shirts, socks, shoes) high on a fence or branch to allow the wind to carry the scent - use items worn by the person your dog is most bonded with. • Dogs can smell home from miles away - your scent can guide them back. • Leave an access point open such as a cracked garage or front door in case they return. • Sleep near the front door if possible - your presence may help them feel safe enough to come back. • If you have other pets, keep them secured in a separate room. 📣 Post Signs & Notify Everyone • Make signs with a clear photo and your contact info. • Put signs everywhere - on poles, street corners, and especially on doorsteps in the neighborhood. • Ask neighbors to check security cameras (e.g., Ring) for sightings. 🌐 Spread the Word Online • Post on local: • Lost & Found Facebook groups • Nextdoor • PawBoost • Ring Neighbors app • Include your contact info, dog’s name, and location last seen. 🐶 Microchip & Shelter Alerts • If your dog is microchipped, notify the chip company immediately and mark your pet as lost. • Call ALL nearby animal shelters and rescues, and leave a detailed voicemail if no one answers.
