Set up a feeding station❣ Do not Chase! Feeding station will keep them in the local area without traveling more miles away from your home. Water and open the stinkiest can of cat food you can find. Check back frequently to see if any of the food has been eaten. If possible set up a trail camera. You could order one from Web under $160. In the heat they may sleep🌟 during the day,☀️ and travel and eat at night!🌛🌓 Certain dogs are more susceptible to getting heat stroke (dogs over 110 lbs.and flatfaced breeds,,chow, bulldog, pug.) A scared animal maybe right there in the bushes next to you when you're calling but they are now in survival mode, Fight flight or freeze. They may not even answer you or recognize you.They will follow back trails, railroad tracks, river banks, ditches, creeks, places that are soft on their feet and away from traffic. Listen for other dogs barking in the neighborhood when your pet may be visiting by their fence. They may travel several miles a day so be quick about putting up signs and getting the word out. It's easier to post signs in the later evening after dark after the traffic has ceased❣ Google your location and print off a map of the area❣ Recruit your neighbors, family and friends to help. You can post on the lost and found and neighborhood groups on Facebook Someone can post to other lost and found sites on the Web. Some else can print off flyers. Someone can go door-to-door to talk to people and hand out flyers, In some instances the dog has been heard inside the person's home barking when they hear your voice at the door especially little dogs that cost a lot of money like yorkies. This actually happened to a friend of mine when we were looking for her dog. Someone can talk to neighbors, mail man, UPS man, Fed Ex man, the sanitation man, nosy neighbors, retired neighbors, Police Patrol,Playing children)can post flyers. Someone can make phone calls to shelters, vet clinics, businesses, eateries, Listen to your gut❣If you start to notice your signs are being taken down, your pet may be in that particular area. 🙄They're going to have to let them out sometime.Be on guard and vigilant! Eyes and ears open, feet pounding the pavement, voice calling their name, hands hammering up signs❣ When people get off work theyll let the pets out. Good Samaritans will sometimes pick up your pet and keep, usually up to 2 weeks. They convinced themselves that the animal must have been mistreated or neglected otherwise it wouldn't be running around loose. DO NOT gather a large group of people to look for your pet❣ This will only scare the lost pet, who is already petrified, confused and disoriented! It will only drive them into hiding or worse, further away! Change your voicemail! State your name, city and state, pet's name, If I miss your call Please leave a message and I will return your call ASAP ❣ Even an animal you spot from a distance can be posted to a public lost and found website❣ Pet Name:: UNKNOWN Photo: Post a look alike PHOTO from google Nearest crossroads: Nearest main road or landmark cut was spotted.
