⭐️1. Personally go into Animal Control Shelter & Pet Shelters because they don’t upload new intakes right away on websites and some not at all. Desk people don’t know all the dogs they have in kennels. Take receipt of annual vaccinations with you. ⭐️2. Notify microchip registrar of missing. ⭐️3. Post on Craigslist under Community in Pets to prevent anyone from selling there.

It illegal to keep a dog that has run away without trying to find its owner.

TLDR- Lots of helpful info when you have lost your dog. Long post below. If too much info for you then please bypass this post. 🌟 All steps are very important to take to make sure you have exhausted everything. Losing a dog is not always a quick fix some are lucky to be found right away yet not all of them . The longer you stall on doing all the following things listed below, the further away they travel from home and into danger. 🐾 If you haven't yet then please immediately do the following. *If chipped, call the chip company so alerts can be released. Make sure your contact info on the chip is up to date. Also make sure that you registered the chip online when you adopted the dog, or when Vet implanted chip. Otherwise the chip will be blank when it is scanned. *Post on the Nextdoor app (a great app). This app covers your neighborhood and surrounding closer subdivisions. Your dog might currently be on Nextdoor app since not everyone uses fb. *Post on FB lost and found pets in your area/town. *Sign on to Ring, you don't need to have a Ring doorbell. You can see videos of dogs in your vicinity that are captured on Ring when they showup in front peoples doors. It is called Neighbors app and you don't need to have a Ring doorbell. *Download the Neighbors app by Ring, it's free *Post on Pawboost app. Bypass pymt option, it's free. Do Not send out a 6 digit code if requested. After posting your lost dog there you can do a search for your dog under the found section. Use the zipcode it went missing and using a radius of miles of your choice. *Visit in person daily your surrounding animal shelters. Sometimes there is a 72 hr hold if they end up at the shelter. If over capacity dogs are euthanized, others are adopted out, other dogs are sent out to rescue groups. *File a lost dog report with the animal shelters. * If your posting flyers and offering a reward, be aware that you will also have scammers contacting you. So please be very cautious. *Very important and immediately * 🐕 Super important. cc *Leave your pet's bed in a dry area outside your front door. Place your most dirtiest socks & tshirts and your dogs used dirty blanket. Dogs have a great sense of smell that carries for several miles, some up to 5 miles. The scent you are placing out there is the connection of your dog to her family. She needs that if she is around the area, for her to find her way to her family. A dogs nose is a scent tracking to their home. *Check storm drains, culverts and wooded areas in your vicinity. Some small dogs can accidentally fall in, or go in for protection not knowing they cannot come back out. Timing is VERY important. Dogs can travel far quickly and can get hit/injured or ed by cars. *If you live at an Apt complex ask the office mgr to send an email to all tenants, it could be someone that lives there picked him up.🐾 *Prayers for a safe return.🐾 No time to waste!
