Tan large dog, looks like a mix

The dog won't let me get near, but he's been roaming our neighborhood for some time. Other neighbors have tried to get him/her, but the dog keeps running away. The dog is definitely looking for a hse or a person. He/she is tan, looks like a mix breed, maybe lab or golden retriever

Try leaving food/water out consistently until it trusts you, then if you can, sit near by, after it gets used to you, sitting quietly as you get closer each time until you can catch. TY for helping.
