I just saw a deceased calico cat that looked on the fatter side in the road on Warwick Blvd near 75th street in Newport News. I was going to work at the shipyard so I couldn't stop and move it off the road

If indoor only cat. Leave an attached garage cracked open, window or door about a foot 24/7 for a few days. Keep it quiet outside during the dark hours so she feels safe to return. Soft calls sitting down from outside the door on and off. See more steps on this site and also indoor only lost cat behaviors and steps. Fliers door to door in a 5-7 house radius of your home. Easiest thing to do and quickest is to leave cat alone and leave an open access 24:7 for cat to get into. They usually return that way within 3 days-See more steps @Pet-trackerinc.org
