Toni Marie I see. Yeah i’m hoping they just went for an adventure and nobody stole them off the road. We just recently got the little one. So he still follows the bigger one around the bigger one took off running because he’s not used to being off leash so I’m thinking he saw an opportunity and he took it.

Hope Rhinehart - When you said he does not run away and the second dog was also missing, I was concerned that someone may have stolen them out of your yard! I'm relieved to hear he just decided to apparently have an adventure. You might put out some unwashed laundry and a bedsheet so they may be able to follow your sent and get back to the house. If you have an outdoor grill, throw some hot dogs on it so they can smell them. If you don't have a grill boil some chicken on the stove and leave a window open. Sometimes the smell of food is helpful in getting them back. Wishing you the best in finding them quickly!

Toni Marie I’m sorry, what is odd exactly? Damon has a lead in the backyard attached to the porch which they use to go potty. The lead broke and they took off. Rango doesn’t have a lead as he’s a puppy and we’re training them to stay around. But he follows the older dog (Damon) I have contacted all the vets near us and contacted animal control. We drive around to the neighbors houses which isn’t many as we’re on a mountain. We drove up and down the road hollering. We’re going to walk through the woods after the kids wake up hoping the dogs arnt hurt and stuck in the mountains or got into the bear den.

This sounds a bit odd. If the dog was wandering around and someone found it, and the other dog - they surely would have contacted you, since you are aware enough to put ID on the collar. Immediately start delivering flyers door-to-door through your neighborhood, assuming they were in your house or yard when they went missing. It is VERY important that everyone in your area knows they are missing! Include vets offices, any easily seen public places like phone poles and any businesses that will let you put one up. Mention he has an ID collar and if he is chipped. OFFER A REWARD! Take a few minutes to do an online search "best ways to find a lost dog" for expert tips. Also go to Craigslist and FB Marketplace to see if anyone is trying to sell either of them. Also do a general search for anyone selling dogs online. Check with Animal Control in case they ended up there and no one checked for ID - which I can't imagine. Check with neighbors who may have security cameras to see if anyone picked them up. Praying.
