Could this found cat be Pretzel? Owner posted earlier on this site.

🚨Missing Cat🚨 My Cat Pretzel is still missing it has unfortunately been 2 months now. I have posted every where I could think of, I have him marked as missing through his chip company. He was lost at a relatives house while my partner and I were out of town. I live an hour away from Rockford and I have a newborn so it has been difficult to go continue looking over there in Rockford. If anyone has any info, any sightings, any tips or someone I could get in contact with to help since I am far away or have him please contact me here. He’s an orange stripped Tabby cat with white on his chin on the smaller medium side. He is chipped. Please and thank you for any help. Lost at Crescent Drive 61108

Just leave outside cats alone unless they are injured or sickly looking. Owners ought to keep their cats indoors so that people don't steal them. Plus, the dangers for an outdoor cat are coyotes, hawks, tom cats, squirrels that can rip their face off, etc. Owners need to collar their cats if they are going to let them roam the neighborhood or they are sneaky and get out. That helps let caring people know they are owned.

Thank you for caring about this orange boy! Any vet or the Animal Emergency Clinic in Rockford (open 24 hours) can scan him for a chip. Please put any canned food you provide on a plate. The sharp edges of cans can quickly slice their tongue, nose, and face when they try to eat the food in a can.

Thank you for feeding him and bringing him in tomorrow. Hopefully his family can be found. There are a lot of missing orange cats. Be sure anyone who thinks it is their cat has proof of ownership. Please don’t give him away to anyone. He needs to be kept for several days to give his family a chance to find him. Ways Someone Can Prove Ownership If They Say You Found Their Pet * Vet records or adoption papers * Papers from a breeder * Family Photos- If they only show photos of the pet you found by itself, look closely to be sure they are not using the photo you posted and AI to falsify an image of the pet in someone’s home * Ask them for a photo of themselves with the pet. * Ask for their photo ID with their name and address before giving them the pet.

It would be good to get him checked for a chip and maybe find his family. Any vet can scan him and here are two other ways to do it. Send an email to info@wecareforpets.org to reach Care for Pets as they have volunteers who can come to your house and scan a pet to see if there is a chip and try to get the owner’s information from the chip company. The Animal Emergency Clinic, 7145 Spring Creek, is open 24/7 can scan for a chip. They are located across Perryville and just down from Franchesco’s. 815-229-7791. Please call before heading over there as they might be busy with emergencies and not able to do a scan right away.
