Message from Owner

We miss Purr-cee so much. And pray he wasn't dumped somewhere by a neighbor. We've had Purr-cee since he was just weeks old. He's about a year old now. Hasn't been fixed yet but on the list to get fixed. Please let me know if anyone has seen him

This is one of the most fearful things to happen to outside inside cats. I also lost my 3 kitties in one day when they just disappeared within a few morning hrs this past August. Especially bc of what was in the local Greer SC news a couple of weeks ago when 3 teenage girls stole a woman's cat from her porch, put him in a box then tortured the cat for several days, shaved and ed him then brought him back and put him in the woman's trash receptacle. And what also worries me is that they may not be the only degenerates doing it; like some kind of initiation thing for young people. They also filmed it and put it on the Internet showing the girls laughing the whole time. I have no decent words for how I feel about those girls, no matter their age, just give me 10 mins with them!🤬🔥

If, when your baby returns or is found Please keep them exclusively inside. There are coyotes everywhere these days and they are stealthy, fast and leave little to no trace behind after they and take animals back to their dens. People have been catching them on their door cams coming right up onto porches after cats.😢 Unlike dogs, who run when frightened, cats tend to hide quietly when scared or injured, often not meowing when called. Cats are often found close by so a physical search is often successful. Most cats are found within about 250 yards radius, indoor-only cats within about 25 yards radius. Please put out kitty’s bed, and item of your clothing/pillow case/etc with your scent. Check with neighbors with photos of your cat because sometimes they get shut in garages or sheds accidentally. In the later evening walk the neighborhood, especially with someone to chat with. Walk a few steps and then stop and listen. If you have a treat pkg that makes crinkle sound, take it with and when you stop, shake the bag or make a crinkle sound. Your cat can hear and recognize familiar sounds like your voice from a good distance and may be able to track you home. Also, call from your porch etc several times a day, while shaking treat bag and/or tapping cat food can with a fork! Check up in trees as cats often seek safety in high places. Use a flashlight at dusk/dark to look for glowing eyes; put up flyers; post to the app Nextdoor and/or Craigslist. Personally check your local shelter every couple days instead of calling, if possible. Animals are brought in constantly. Stray animals are available for adoption after a short time. Plus you know your pet best! They probably look/act differently in a shelter environment. If your pet is microchipped, please make sure your contact info is always up to date. If need be, you can update it even when your pet is missing. And still check shelters in person as microchips can sometimes fall out or travel to other parts of the animal’s body. Put a lost pet sign up in your front yard. This is in case someone finds him and drives through the neighborhood to locate his home. If you have a gate that kitty might have trouble getting back through, keep it open as often as you can until kitty returns. Praying your baby comes home soon. Searching at night with a flashlight and calling her name in your normal voice, not yelling it out, is good. Also the eyes will glow if and when the light hits them. Leave out some personal clothing with your or her scent on it. Hope your baby is home inside very soon ❤️ Also post on the Greenville or your local County Animal Care websites. Go in person with photos.
