Message from Owner

Please help us bring our Senior pup . We’re new to the area so she hasn’t been on many walks. We finally got her the back yard we’ve always wanted to get her. We’d love to see her enjoy it.

Try a tracker. Are there cameras or ring door bells in area? If so perhaps folks can check the video. May have caught something. Maybe can check again if still not found. Lost dog search tips, hope it can help. First report to non-emergency police to have a record on file as well as shelters, rescues. animal contol in area. Next flyers with town and area lost, go door to door. If you have flyers up ready, make sure they are still up. Wind, weather and people take them down. Tape them back up and hand them out in the area again as new people may be there to see them and people need to be reminded. Need to keep it out there fresh in people’s minds.!! Someone usually knows something. You just need to keep it fresh and out there till the right person sees it. This may help as not everyone sees everything on Facebook, Social Media sites. Some are not even on social media at all, like seniors who see a lot as they are around the area if retired. Senior centers nearby maybe?? Go there talk to them. If you have not done flyers with a picture as well as town and location lost in please consider as it can help. Even handwritten and copied on a copier with a picture like on poster. Put them up in high pedestrian traffic areas as it helps. Tape up flyers wherever you can park lots, poles anywhere you are allowed. Coffee stops, shops, stores if they let you put one up or have bulletin boards. Local gyms etc. Hand them out to people. Under windshield wipers in parking lot. Also talk to mail people, UPS and Fed X people, lawn services in area. crossing guards, school bus drivers, garbage and recycle collectors, joggers. DPW workers, utility workers. Groomers in area may let you put flyer up. Firemen, hand a couple flyers out at local firehouses. Dog walkers! These people are all out there and see things. Dog parks if any around you. Tape flyer on gate, hand out. These are dog lovers. Talk to them. Check all local vets, someone may have brought your pet there. Many vets have boards for flyers, hang flyers up there. Is there a buddy dog to walk in the area where the pup was lost while you search? If you cannot hang flyers, like in some senior development or condo developments, is there a center or area with a board to hang things? Board area by mailbox, pools?? Perhaps mailings, USPS web site, there is information on direct mailings you can do, sort of mass mailing in area/town. Otherwise hand out everywhere you can. Keep flyers fresh, write still missing "as of" with current date on them. This way folks do not think it is "old news". Important to let folks know not old news. Check them weather and people can and do take them down. Call shelters etc. daily, stop by with a picture flyer. Hand it out there. Walk through to see if your pet is there at the shelter even if you have before. Your pet may have been brought in when the person on the phone or desk was not there or the person you talk to may not pass the word along to others at the shelter. They get busy. Call animal control in your town and bordering towns. Check Craigslist, people post animals there they find it seems. Also classified ads in the area, check these. Basically, talk to anyone and everyone you can. Hand flyers to neighbors. Up and down street and street behind you or where pet went missing. Across street and behind there on next blocks too. Try a 6 to 7 block radius at first may be needed. Search yourself in the area last seen, speak calmly, like you would normally talk to your pet. Say their name. Your pet knows your voice. Ask neighbors in the area if you can check their property. Behind sheds, bushes, in wooded areas, window wells, under decks. Bushes etc. Pet may be afraid, exhausted and hiding. Ask if you can check their property. Better if owner can. Never chase even if it is your pup. They are in survival mode when lost and some run even from owners. Tell folks who help you search to not chase. Just remember pup is scared. Get on ground level and be still and calm. Offer a treat. Use a flashlight so if it is dark out or looking in a dark area, you can see their eyes, if hiding somewhere like under a deck. Flyers are imperative, of course, but this is a simple way to increase visibility tenfold. If you lose a dog or cat, this is an excellent way to increase sightings. Similar to. Signing your cars...maximum exposure. You can use posterboard from Staples of another store and use bright florescent markers These are easy to place at intersections, crucial for sightings. All you need is those markers, a photo of your dog and your phone number at the bottom. The same procedure is used for flyers Google lost pets in your county/town or both to post like Pawboost page, as exposure is so important. Lost pets Monmouth, one for Ocean County , Atlantic Burlington, Camden, Mercer Middle, Sus, Union etc. Lost and found Pets nj, Lost and found pets South Jersey , Lost and found Central Jersey and lost and found pets North Jersey. Lot dogs new jersey. Depends where you live. Make sure of county and if you boarder another county, put it on both. If your town has a web page or "Patch" or on line news outlets may allow posts, please post there. Also, folks who find dogs post on sites post scan the sites in event your pet has been found. There are dog search and rescue teams out there, you can Google. Have great insight, advice and success. IE Budda, Hound Hunters, Chasing Tails are examples. Can be helpful. Best wishes to all trying to find your baby. Dogs can run or can hide out a long time when scared keep the faith. Keep posting and talking to everyone. Keep the faith and it out there.
