I adopted Bob / Bubbie on my birthday in January. It took me a month to get him to feel safe enough to come out from under my bed. Lately he has finally started crawling up on my lap. Try opening a window and then have a couple family members sit near it and have a normal conversation. Go out after dark and call the cat's name SOFTLY.
