Our cat ran outside late last night. Hopped to the top of the fence then hopped into the neighbors yard. Been looking all day, but no sign of him.

Lost house cats usually do not go far. Look in,under, on top of all structures/trees in the near vicinity. Have a flashlight with you as his/her eyes will reflect in the dark. If you do see him/her, no sudden movements. Have some treats or his/her food with you. Also, if you can leave a door or window slightly open, he/she may come back in their own. Keep an ear to the outside after dark. Many kitties come back after dark and meow to be let back in. Leave a piece of clothing with your scent near the open space that is helpful.Have neighbors look in garages, sheds and other structures. Also if you did not see him/her get out or know for sure she/he did, check every inch of your house, she/he could be trapped or hiding somewhere. Good Luck!!

Tips: Join and post on South Jersey Lost & Found Pets (Facebook page). Go out late at night with flashlight to look around bushes, deck, etc Listen for meows. Put out litter box, stinky food to attract kitty. Tell neighbors. They can check their Ring cameras too. Check garages too. Sightings are SUPER HELPFUL! Call Animal Control. 856-718-0305. They keep a log. Call or GO TO Voorhees Animal Orphanage 856-627-9111. Bring pics. Put up posters. Include phone # and pic. Don't give up. Kitties tend to stay close but hide during the day. Good luck and keep us posted!!

They usually don’t venture far. It’s probably scared & hiding near by in bushes or an open garage. Most kitties will stay put in their safe hiding spot. ( if they’re not fixed they can wonder further, depends on circumstances) Ask neighbors to check their sheds, decks, garages. They usually venture out at night after 24-48hrs when they start getting hungry. The “witching” hour when they come out is 3am. If you see your pet, don’t try to grab it, it’s still on survival mode and will run. Just sit down maybe with some treats and let your pet come to you. (Remember, never put the litterbox outside. Other cats will mark it & scare your cat away. Just in case, also set some humane traps near by, hide them in the bushes where your pet might hide. Good luck & don’t lose hope. Pray to St Anthony, he hasn’t let me down. 🙏🏻🐾

Post on Nextdoor and Ring apps. Ask neighbors to check car hoods, garages and sheds immediately. Make sure to tap hoods of the car around. Keep an entryway open for cat to get in. Buy or loan a live cat trap from online stores or local tnr groups. Leave your garage open with cat to enter. Put some food and your clothing there for smell. Get a motion sensor camera to detect when cat is around your property
