Gray / brown male domestic shorthair tabby, stripes & spots, approx. 4-5 years old & 9-10lbs. Microchipped & neutered. Green eyes & is extremely timid. On the back of his neck, he has a rather unique marking that looks like a heart. He is smaller than most cats I've seen in the area. Cash reward for his safe return .

Message from Owner

I’m including a cash reward if anyone finds Phoenix and is able to safely return him to me. Please help me find my boy 😭 west Knoxville piney grove area. Please contact me via phone call at - I can only receive phone calls to this number so please do not text this number. - neutered male - approx 4-5 yo - he is extremely skiddish and will try hiding from humans if it’s not me (so if you find him and can stay with him until I arrive to see if it’s him, I will still reward you after confirming it’s him) - went missing 2/9/24 around 8:25pm - security footage has not given any clues to where he ran off to after he got scared - neighbors have been alerted to keep an eye out

Lori Otis I’m considering sleeping on the porch again soon. The night he got out, that’s where I slept even though it was super cold and rainy. We’ve been doing lots of footwork, flyers hung up and being replaced once destroyed by the rain. Flyers in newspaper boxes where available. Going door to door for the others without paper boxes. Leaving his flyers in peoples storm doors when folks don’t answer I found a list of HOAs and community it’s associations that I’m sending out emails to this afternoon when I take my break from work. Been checking g the shelter consistently, lost/found and the adoption floor & website constantly. Someone got mad at me last night for being out walking around with a flashlight. It wasn’t even super late and I was on foot…I get that people are sketched out but, I’ve not gone on properties without speaking to people living on the property and literally do not want anything by him back. Dude claimed to live nearby yet never saw any of the signs I’ve put up even though their on stop signs

Ps. I don’t care what materialistic items y’all have, I don’t want it. I just want Phoenix safe and back home with me and his girlfriend who barely even eats her treats now that he’s gone 😞

All the below is true. It worked for me and others many times. Lost house cats usually do not go far. Look in, under, on top of all structures/trees in the near vicinity. Have a flashlight with you as his/her eyes will reflect in the dark. If you do see your cat, please no sudden movements. Have some treats or their favorite food with you. Also, if you can leave a door or window slightly open, he/she may come back in on their own. Keep an ear to the outside after dark. Many kitties come back after dark and meow to be let back in. Leave a piece of clothing with your scent near the open space that is very helpful. Have neighbors look in garages, sheds and other structures. Also if you did not see him/her get out or know for sure she/he did, check every inch of your house, she/he could be trapped or hiding somewhere. Most cats are scared when they get out. They find the first safe spot and this is where they stay, this is usually within a half block from your home in any direction. Best time to look with a FLASHLIGHT is after midnite and up to 3 am when the scarey daytime noises stop. Sit outside your house, near the place kitty escaped from. Stay put for at least an hour, talking in a normal tone so kitty can hear you. Have familiar smells with you, like their or your blanket, favorite food or treats. If weather is mild, consider sleeping on your porch. Do this every night, same time...between midnight and 3 am. You could also try walking around the neighborhood. Take a FLASHLIGHT and shine it in the bushes and everywhere to watch for the GLOW of cat eyes. Take a can of food or treats to shake. .something your cat loves. Softly call kitty name. You may have to go several nights in row, at same time. Kitty will be cautious, they MUST know it is you before they show themselves. Listen closely for soft meows...they want to be found. Don't give up, cats are resilient and smart. I would be so bold as to say 95% of lost cats are within a hundred feet of your house but are not found because owner gives up. Cats can be missing for weeks and months, being steps from your house. Sometimes trapped under the house or in a pipe or something close by. Many good stories of cats coming home, even after much time passes. Hang flyers in neighborhood. ..people need to know he/she is missing, so they don't assume it’s is a stray if they see them. I found my cat after putting flyers on houses for blocks in my neighborhood. People have seen your cat, someone may be feeding her...you have to get word out IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD! Have neighbors check garages and sheds. She could be trapped in one of those locations. Contact shelters and stay in touch with them. Most importantly, have faith and be consistently persistent in active regular searches AT NIGHT with a FLASHLIGHT. Good luck with getting him/her back. It will happen. Believe!!!! And pray

We’re still searching for Phoenix. I rode my bike through the neighborhood a few times yesterday, the last time being rather late. Found two cats and made friends with them after giving them treats but didn’t see any signs of my boy. I’m worried someone took him in and I haven’t been able to get to the right house. If anyone knows anything, please, reach out to me. If you message me on Facebook, please tag me in a comment to get my attention so I’m aware of the message request.

We’re still looking for Phoenix. Please help us make sure he isn’t trapped in any crawlspace, shed, garage, etc. if you’re in the area. If you’ve taken him in, please, get in touch with me. He’s literally my best friend and I miss him terribly 😭
