Message from Finder

I found this kitten on my porch due to my work schedule and the fact that I can’t keep bottle-feeding it anymore. If anyone knows where I can surrender it—or if someone wants to adopt it—I’d be so grateful. You’re welcome to come pick up the kitten. I’m not sure if it’s male or female, but it’s probably around 5 weeks old. The mother cat has left, and I can’t find any other owner. It’s an orange kitten with blue eyes. I have tried contacting a shelter, but the one that got back to me said they require $150 for vet fees and also require me to foster the kitten until they find an owner. I don’t have the time or extra money to do that. Please help—if you’re able to take the kitten or point me to a low-cost shelter or rescue, let me know. Thank you

I'm unable to help with this situation, except for a tiny bit of advice. We've been in the situation before of having to hand feed babies, but at 5 weeks, the kitten should be able to lick milk from a bowl. Order some kitten milk replacement, known as KMR, follow directions to make a small bowl full and offer it to the baby. Good luck.

There is Texas Litter Control in Tomball, but I would contact a Vet in your area to see who they suggest.

Abandoned Animal Rescue or Almost Home Cat Haven are no shelters that safely rehome!

Please check https://bestfriends.org/kittens/found-kitten-what-to-do-houston - if you scroll down you can enter your zip code to find resources closer to you. Please only give to a shelter/rescue to ensure the kitten gets properly vetted & fixed before going to a new home. Otherwise you run the risk of bad people getting this poor baby and doing only God knows what with them. Please understand that people who can truly afford to adopt and care for a cat for life have plenty of options to choose from at local shelters, so you need to question the motives of anyone wanting free kittens as they could end up as bait for dog fighting or snake food as there are horrible people that share this world with us. 😿 Thank you for helping!
