Crestview Animal Services Missing Cats Where are the cats? AN OFFICIAL INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO BE DONE This has to be stopped. Animal Services needs to account for 165 cats the city manager said they rescued. I have the email she sent me. People need to be the voice for their pets. People should be flooding the city manager with calls and emails. If not, the neglect and dismissive attitude will continue. Taxpayers have a right to know. SPEAK UP FOR YOUR PET GOD COUNTS THEIR TEARS When people call in asking for help with a cat, they're told animal services only comes out if the cat is hurt. I emailed the city manager asking why do they only come out when the cat is hurt. In direct answer to your questions: Are they taken to a vet clinic for treatment and a chance at recovery-Yes, if an animal in our care is in need of medical attention it is taken to the vet. Where are these cats currently being housed? We currently operate out of a facility in Crestview and a facility in the Laurel Hill area. Her reply was they help all animals. She also said. "Quote" We do have a TNR program and this calendar year alone have TNR’d over 165 cats and facilitated 100 cat adoptions. I responded asking where are the 165 cats. It took her 3 weeks to answer my email. She said they post animals they take in on thier lost and found. The website shows many dogs, a few kittens and very few cats. The city manager can't account for 165 rescued cats. So where are the cats. People's cats could have been picked up. I've also received messages from my post that neighbors who don't like cats have been trapping them and relocating them. Animal Services received a 100k donation from the Sikes and Chimiak families for a larger shelter. People have called asking if the new shelter will help the feral and stray cats. They were told no, and that the cats can continue to live outside.
