Beware of fake/scammers, they offer a search and find service but require a pre-payment prior and often scheduling online for a search, do not do this it is a scam, same with someone texting you saying they have your pet, for information you need to text in a code first - Do not do this it is a SCAM. If someone tells you to call them on the WhatsApp do not do this. Legit thermal drone search and rescue operators are licensed with the FAA. Too many scammers pretending to be drone operators, some even stole legit thermal drone operators' videos and pictures, they target those desperate to find their pets. Recommended by many in our area.... For a legit, FAA licensed thermal drone service contact Trey Larson, He owns Florida Game Recovery 813-434-6584 (call or text), he is also a Deputy/Law Enforcement. He uses a thermal drone to locate lost animals, he is 100% legit and has helped many in the area recover and find their lost cats and dogs, this is another option. Chris Stegmeier, owner/operator of Tampa Drone Solutions 727-919-1672. Chris is also a FAA licensed thermal drone operator. He lives in San Antonio/Pasco County and is a local firefighter. PUSH IN THE GROUND SIGNS ARE VITAL FOR SIGHTINGS..... Post flyers and push in the ground corrugated signs with "LOST DOG" across the top - a picture and contact information, location lost in. Make flyers to hang in pet stores nearby, on poles, keypads at the entrances to developments. Encase the flyers/picture in a waterproof sleeve, ziplock bag and attach with waterproof tape to the push in the ground signs, when hanging flyers. The ones we had made were stiffer than printer paper, coated and held up well. (Walgreens). The more you get the dog's picture out there the more chances of a sighting. Also, call/pm/email all vets and shelters in your area.... include as much information as possible when contacting them. Make 4x6 flyers to leave with local businesses, vet offices to hand out or leave on counters for clients. Our vet was placing one in each bag of products the clients were taking home. If the dog is skittish, do not chase, do not call out then state that on all posts, flyers, handouts, signs. If the dog is microchipped contact the microchip company and let them know the dog is lost. When found let them know. You need to add a phone number to posts and to your flyers, the fastest way to contact you. If a finder contacts you ask them to stay in the area if unable to catch your dog and watch the dog quietly until you arrive. If the dog is scared, skittish will not go to people easily you may need the help of a local dog/pet trapper to bring the dog home. (written by C. URGENT 🚨Post as lost /found on the Ring doorbell app. Your pet may already be posted as seen or found there 🙏🏼🙏🏼It’s free- you do not need to own the doorbell to use it. People post lost, found, and sightings of loose pets DAILY-It works like Nextdoor and POST ON NEXTDOOR APP TOO!… but RING is more anonymous. SO RING is called “Neighbors” in the App Store. Before you submit your post, make sure your contact author links is on BEFORE SUBMITTING it, and include streets missing from and check your comments and texts and phone calls periodically. Still need to go door to door asking neighbors to check security cameras because there’s other companies besides Ring & you may get a person or vehicle description of your dog being picked up so you can report as stolen and submit footage to the “report a crime” link on the local news stations. I’ve seen it get dogs returned by airing it on the news.
