Post on NextDoor.com, Fido Alert-Claycord FB page, go door-to-door passing out flyers and asking neighbors to check garages and sheds and post signs everywhere. If a cat, put litter box outside, so s/he can smell his way home. If dog, put bedding outside. Also report as lost to the shelter here https://www.contracosta.ca.gov/822/Reporting-a-Lost-Pet and check there daily. Make sure microchip contact info is up to date, if lucky enough to be microchipped.
