How to find a lost cat. Watch the video, then read the comments below for more helpful hints. https://youtu.be/g2eCoC63B9I Things to do if you've lost a cat: 1. Put out smelly, unwashed clothing of person cat likes best. 2. Leave garage door or some way back inside open if possible. 3. If you can safely leave a door or window open while you’re home (no other pets), sometimes cats will return on their own. 4. Check under bushes and cars with flashlight early in the morning and at night, the light reflects off the eyes. Also point a laser pointer at the ground by bushes at night and early morning. 5. Rattle treat bag or dry kibble at usual feeding time. Kitty is probably close by. 6. Call for kitty at dusk and dawn, and/or usual mealtimes. Spend as much time searching. 7. Have neighbors check garages and sheds. 8. Check all your closets, garage, under beds and furniture, pantry, behind sheds, etc. 9. Make giant neon posters and post at every intersection four way stop going N, S, E, and W. 10. Cross post to other Lost & Found sites. Post on Nextdoor. 11. Check SD Humane sdhumane.org Animal Control, Pawboost, Craigslist (beware of scammers) and other on line pet sites. 12. Use the Neighbors App by Ring or the Citizen app if you have either. Keep looking. Don’t give up and don’t depend on others. Good luck! 🌻

Check the local shelters "found Cats" section and file lost reports. sdhumane(.org), sddac(.com) and petharbor(.com) Post on lostmykitty(.com), 24petconnect(.com), lost.petcolove(.org) Check and post on Craigslist Lost & Found Check with all neighbors within a one block radius and ask them to please check their yards and around their houses. Look under bushes, cars, in trees, garage, shed, and anywhere a kitty might hide. Walk a one-block radius from home while calling by name. Hang brightly colored posters within the same radius from home. Put some dirty laundry outside. The shelter website has a lot more helpful tips on what to do if you lose a pet. I hope you find your beautiful kitty safe.
