Need proof of ownership, but I will hold your dog as long as I can until I can’t anymore and then I will have to take the dog to the shelter. I don’t wanna have to do that so I’m hoping to find the actual owner. I think the dog may have gotten out based off of fireworks may have scared dog away

They can notify the shelter and post to their website while doing the stray hold to keep the dog safe. Shelter stray hold is only 72 hours and then is available for adoption. This person would be required to do a 10day hold before attempting to rehome. The dog is safer with her. If they really are looking for their dog they will find her listing and info.

So a person looking for their dog goes to the shelter looking for the dog and it's not there and then months later you turn it in after they stop looking.
