Post large signs with photos within a few blocks (even farther away if an outdoor or indoor-outdoor cat) every half block or so, laminated if you live in a wet area. Give fliers to neighbors within that same area. Post on Pawboost, Nextdoor, Ring Camera and/or Neighbors app, and various online lost & found pet sites and community groups on Facebook, but ignore the scammers. Place a humane trap or two, regularly monitored, along with a nanny cam, in your yard. Search everywhere, day and night (with a strong flashlight), including under homes and in sheds, garages, under cars, in trees, etc. Ask neighbors to do the same or preferably, ask if you can search their property. Do not assume that your cat will respond to your voice when displaced. Visit your local shelter every couple of days for weeks or months if you have to. If microchipped, notify the microchip company. Do not assume that having a microchip means that your cat will be properly checked for one, even by a shelter.
