Teddy is Missing in Gilbert, AZ

Shih tzu w/ only a few teeth left he has cataracts and seems hard of hearing, he is older and has some dreaded matted hair on rear ankle and under front armpit. Darker brown hair around the face. Always licking his tongue out to get his mustache that he won’t let me trim out of his mouth. Loves to play fetch w stuff toys small enough to fit in his mouth.

I was wrongfully arrested on July 16, 2026 in Mesa from Woodspring Suites and the arresting officer said I would only be in jail a couple days and gave me the option to let them take my dog to the pound or give him to someone I know. I couldn’t bare the thought of Teddy going to doggy jail too/the pound, so I let the one person I barely met take him. The officer swore he would give me his number written on piece of paper, but didn’t. I was found innocent and all charges were lifted, THREE WEEKS LATER! First person I call is the person who had my TeddyBear and the phone doesn’t even ring, goes straight to voicemail. Takes me a week of searching, asking endlessly everywhere to even find out where he lived and to my disappointment his mom said he never had a dog there and he is in jail now😔 I call and find out he was arrested July 20 in Gilbert. I search and call all the shelters and humane society and yes Gilbert Police department, but he did not have the dog with him at time of arrest. Im worried sick. I’m heart broken. I hope he is safe and well. He has been through so much trauma and neglect and abandonment which is why I took him under my wing in the first place to save him from the homeless people who thought it was hilarious that they couldn’t even recall the last time they fed Teddy 🐾😡 I could tell it had been weeks. When I got him I bathed him and all his ribs were protruding it was so sad 😞 he loves baths and jumps in the shower w me every time. He loves papaya, bananas, PB& J dipped n milk, those canned vienna sausages you find at the gas stations are his favorite, but important to break it down to bite size pieces for him. He also loves dry dog food thats been softened by warm water since he has no teeth anymore. Please God bring Teddy home to me. Anybody have any info please let me know. And if someone out there is taking care of him I will take care of you and bless you & if you fell in love with him like i did and are hesitant to let me know you have him because of that reason, show me he’s in a good home and show me he’s loved and safe and fed and so long as he’s happy i will not take that away from you or him. Just let me buy some of his favorites to give you as a thank you. I just want what’s best for him ultimately. He’s been thru he deserves the best case scenario for his remaining years.
