Trap & camera are key!!! Our boy was finally trapped after 45days! Seen almost nightly on camera. Local the entire time!! Don’t give up! CHECK GARAGES ETC!!

Info for lost indoor only cats….. Be wary of people who will tell you they found your cat, but you have to message them on FB or text a code to a certain phone number. These are scams. A new scam is to call from a pet hospital’s sed phone number and ask for payment up front for your “severely injured” pet. Hang up & call the pet hospital directly or go in person. A person who truly found your cat will not put conditions on you except maybe to show them proof of ownership, like pictures. Also, people will tell you how they used a search agency to find their pet. Also, a scam to take your money. Most of those services are not even in the TriState. Exception is, Reaves Recovery. They are here in Cincinnati area, but do charge a fee since they are a business. You can find them on Fb. Make lots of flyers to pass out to all your neighbors. Ask them to check their security cameras and keep watch for your cat moving through their yard at night by way of the cameras. Make bright posters to put up all around the area. You want to keep your cat in the area near your house, so put out an article of clothing/blanket that has your scent & your cat’s scent on it. Put out dry food & water on a covered porch. If you do not have a covered porch then turn a large Tupperware bin on its side to put the food & water inside. Put baby monitors outside at your doors so you can hear if your cat comes to eat or cries to be let inside. Read the article then grab a flashlight ( helps reflect their eyes making it easier to see.) Look under sheds, porches, decks, grill covers, furniture covers, campers, cars, boats, bushes, wood piles, anything a cat can crawl into or under. You can make a lost cat report at Cincinnati Animal CARE or your local animal shelters. This article has great tips to help you with your search and for understanding lost cat behavior. Article says they do not go far typically, but don’t discount reported, found cats that are miles away. Unfortunately humans sometimes relocate them. Call and visit your shelters and pounds. Someone could have picked your baby up. Also they can note that your kitty is missing and if she is turned in they will call you. It also doesn't hurt to call them often just in case.

I'm so sorry about your kitty. Here are some tips that helped me find my little guy when he got out. My kitty got out in the middle of winter for 11 days. I put flyers out everywhere and some very nice friends of a friend of mine saw my flyers and said he was living under their outside stairs. Flyers work. Also I was told to go out at night when it's quiet and call your kitty calmly. They are scared when outside even if it's your voice they hear so shouting or calling loudly isn't recommended. Also using a flashlight while looking in garages and bushes helps. Cats eyes glow when a light beams on them. Shaking treat bags can help too. Don't do a litterbox that can attract dangerous animals that could hurt Kitty. You can do a piece of dirty laundry of yours that they can be attached too. One more thing also is to get a humane trap from a local shelter and put the smelliest food inside. Believe it or not KFC chicken has helped attract cats more than any food lol. Also cameras can help also to see if your baby comes around when you're not home. I wish you the best of luck and hope. 💜💜💜💜🍀

You might try a live trap, they are fairly cheap, my Jane wanted to come back but was too overwhelmed and scared, she had made a home under a backyard shed across the street. Eventually she was found eating hamburger in the trap on my front porch and all was right again. It took about 3 weeks for her to show up and i did have to release squirrels and possums along the way which were easy. Tuna in oil also makes a lot of scent. Make sure there's water too. If its cold out, wrap the trap in a blanket and make sure to check it often, check it often no matter what the weather is. In fact, best to keep a camera on it. I believe in Jane's case, the live trap was her only chance. Best of luck and a swift resolve for you I hope

Hope some of these ideas will help... 🔻PUT OUT neon LOST posters, have your neighbors check their ring cams, sheds, garages, under the hood of their cars. Look up in trees, under bushes. 🔻PUT OUT worn clothing, SOCKS, blankets, pillowcases, if possible place where they can blow, cats can smell up to a mile away. Typically they do not travel more than 5 to 7 houses away from home. They are more likely to move at dawn and dusk. Use a flash light then to look for your kitty's eye reflection. If you have a back door, garage door, leave slightly open in case they come home to find shelter there, also call QUIETLY his/her name, shake treats if they respond to that having the door open to a safe space that it can come running back to. They're usually scared and resort to survival instincts, do not chase. ⚠️⚠️IT IS NOT advised to put their litter box outside as it can attract other outside critters and keep your cat from coming back home 👉this being said some people do find the litterbox to be a good scent trigger for their cat: 🔻PLEASE monitor the box and NEVER leave outside after dark. 🔻SAME for food, only leave out if you can monitor. Notify your microchip company, mail carrier, your local shelter. Post on neighborhood apps & local lost and found groups in your area (via FB). 👀 If you do have sightings of your kitty and are unable to get them back inside please ask for help in setting a ❤️humane trap. ⚠️⚠️⚠️CAUTION👉with suggestions to contact a lost pet person or service, they should be local and well recommended! A message from someone saying they found your cat and to send a 6 digit code, it's a scam! PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP!🙏
