Message from Owner

Hi, I am fostering this guy for & he is insanely timid and frightened. I am not looking to catch him but I need sightings ASAP. He was let out to use the restroom around 1a and dug a hole. He had an air tag but that came off during his escape.

Kristin Verrone you did nothing wrong Kristin. Everyone wants Moby home, and some people are directing blame on you for something they have absolutely no knowledge on. Dogs with anxiety can dig at extreme rates, especially when they feel that safety is on the other side of something. Moby will be home soon. Trusting my gut on this.

I mentioned this in a comment thread but thought I should mention it in the main thread too - I personally think the foster family did their best. Moby was double leashed, had an AirTag, and in a fenced yard. He was let out early in the morning probably because the foster family wanted him to have one last chance to do his business before the long night and it’s quieter/less overwhelming than letting them out during the day. They obviously already put a lot of thought and care into keeping him safe and it was just an unfortunate accident that he got loose. Let’s focus on helping the foster family with sightings. Things like “they should have done this that blah blah” is as helpful as “I should have bought bitcoin in 2009”. It offers no real actionable solution, comes off as judgmental and discourages people (especially bystanders) from fostering in the future. I especially don’t want this foster, who is obviously trying their best, to feel attacked in what was already a very stressful situation. What if they give up because of the social media toxicity and when Moby somehow comes back to their yard they are no longer interested in helping?

Kimberly Boyd Judging by the picture and the post I actually think the foster did their best - he was double leashed and also had an air tag. This might just be a very unfortunate accident. 😔
