I've read so many posts this week regarding lost dogs. My heart goes out to each and everyone but why do I keep reading no collar or tags? I pray for a safe return 🙏🏼🐾

If you can, try to put up physical flyers around Park St and Brazil Cafe today! Many neighbors or local business owners who aren't on Nextdoor will see those and know to check their yards and cameras for Onix

Contact CT Dog Gone Recovery immediately. They are the local experts and can help you set up a strategic search or feeding station since it's been 2 days. • Alert Local Authorities: Contact Hartford Animal Control, the non-emergency police department, and all nearby veterinary offices/shelters. If someone picked Onix up, these are the first places they will report it. 🔍 FOR NEIGHBORS NEAR PARK ST / BRAZIL CAFE: • Check Your Property: Please check under your decks, porches, inside open garages, sheds, and behind bushes. • Check Hidden Spaces: Look inside or around local storm drains and tight alleyways where a small puppy might seek shelter from weather and noise. • Leave Food & Water: If you live right by the intersection, consider putting out a bowl of fresh water and smelly food (like wet food or cooked chicken). After 2 days, he will be looking for resources. ⚠️ IF YOU SPOT ONIX: • DO NOT CHASE HIM. He has been missing for 2 days and will be in survival mode (terrified). Chasing will scare him into traffic or cause him to run further away. • Sit low, stay calm, and use a soft voice. Toss high-value treats near him to lure him in, but let him come to you. • Identify him: Look for a small pup with grey ears, no collar, and a distinct bowlegged walk from the back.

Contact: CT Dog Gone Recovery for immediate support and search assistance. Have a recent photo ready. If your dog is missing: 🔍 SEARCH CLOSE FIRST Most dogs that slip out or get loose stay within a few blocks of home. • Bring treats, a leash, and something that smells familiar • Call calmly and gently • Do NOT chase — scared dogs often run farther 🏡 CHECK EVERY POSSIBLE HIDING SPOT Ask neighbors to check: • Garages • Sheds • Under decks • Bushes and porches Also contact: • Local Animal Control • Non-emergency police department • Nearby shelters and veterinary offices ⚠️ Turn off any electric/invisible fence on your property in case your dog is afraid to cross back over it. 📢 GET THE WORD OUT FAST Post in: • Local Facebook groups & town pages • Nextdoor • PawBoost Repost at different times of day for better visibility. 📄 MAKE SIMPLE FLYERS Include: • Large “LOST DOG” headline • Clear recent photo • Phone number in large font • Last seen location 🧠 IMPORTANT TIPS • Search early morning and late evening when it’s quieter • Leave bedding or a worn shirt outside your home-hang high if possible to allow scent to travel further • Keep one person home in case your dog returns on its own • Offer a reward if possible ⚠️ SAFETY REMINDERS • Do not chase • Sit low, stay calm, and use a soft voice • If someone says they found your dog, ask for proof before handing over any reward or information S/N: Cats and dogs often stay close to home. Please spay/neuter and microchip your pets if you haven’t already. There are many hazards and dangers outdoors.
