Our buddy got out last night while we were taking out the trash. We just moved into this house about a month and a half ago, so I'm worried he won't recognize the area and our scent might not be very strong at our house yet. He is microchipped, but we'd like him home as soon as possible!

Also put out a piece of your clothing. Indoor cats rarely go far. One of mine hid 5 days in a neighbor' s basement. Had looked there several times. Check consistently garages ( make sure he isn' t locked inside)_ basements,secluded spots,under porches and vehicles. Go out at night with a flashlight and call him. Go repeatedly,especially late at night. Get a humane trap. Alert shelters,rescue groups,groups that feed feral colonies, vets. Provide photos. Check regularly with shelters. Don't rely on their contacting you. Prayers he is soon home.
